Just been checking out this site the last couple of days. Been looking for info on stuff since I decided I'm going to the academy next fall and try to make another run in this field. I tried when I first got out of the Army, but the no college, not knowing anyone killed me. Decided to go into auto technology, but the urge to have a company car came back. I'll be going Friday nites, and all day Saturday and Sunday so my life will cease to exist; but whoever gets me, hopefully have take home car because I'm a gearhead :O). Hopefully I'll get some great info off of here.

I wanted to continue on a little more. In the five years since I've gotten out, I've worked as a armored truck driver, bail agent, security guard, and at a tire shop so if anyone has any questions about any of it, shoot.

Greetings Mdtn. I can relate to your situation. I am going thru academy now on a similar schedule.Work 50 hours a week then go to school on weekends. How you feel about it depends on how bad you want it I guess.I have a reserve position interview coming up so it is starting to come together.I have not been on this site long but I have found a great bunch of people here.I learn things from them that will help me in training and on the job.And yes..sometimes I just talk trash..all in good fun and never with any malice of course.Good luck and welcome.

Hey Mdnt, where ya from? Not all agencies require college degrees (like mine for instance) and some consider military experience a big plus (like mine for instance)
Good luck,
G.A.

Hey mdnt,
Look on the bright side. You only HAVE to work twenty years on the left coast before you can retire and join the rest of us old fartz in sunny Azironia. http://www.officer.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

MdntRdr perhaps if you leave your survivalist nut friends you might be able to get a job in law enforcement. As long as you remain with far right fringe elements I doubt any agency in the country will hire you.

WOW!!! That's enlightening. How do you ASSume that one, I have friends; two, what kind of friends they are? I'm sure everyone knows the the Lion's Club, especially one that has a few cops, including detectives, police chiefs and others is a far right fringe group. It's a real revolutionary idea to drink beer and hit golf balls into a rodeo arena while discussing upcoming projects to help the community.

Hey Don,
Not to diss Arizona or anything, but I would have to say I've spent a least a quarter of my life in the state; but I'd rather retire to Montana or Wyoming, even if the wife hates snow. :O)
