Funny you mention that Al. I asked Father Jim if we could add a sports area to the forum. The email is most likely buried under a stack, so it my be awhile for a response. As for soccer, footbal, whatever..it's a great sport. I was not exposed to it as a youngster, but my seven year old son is playing and I'm helping out coaching.
His team is undefeated in 2 seasons. Really neat to see them progress and advance as time goes by. They are out of the flock following the ball stage, and now actually pass to eachother!
As for me I still play four sports, and run as much as I can. I'm giving up the contact stuff, ice hockey and football, these kids are just to fast and have to much to prove. I'm in the "let's work up a sweat and get out in one piece" stage of my life now. http://www.officer.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

No it wasn't buried, it was deleted. My spam filter deletes email that is detected to come from, porno sites, get-rich quick scams,
and the worst of all....Yankee fans http://www.officer.com/ubb/tongue.gif
Seriously, you've had some good ideas, and I have a few of my own, like maybe someplace special for the single cops and Badge Bunnies to hang out, but I'm so busy right now it's ridiculous. Please stay tuned.....

big_al,
I'm a huge sports fan (& getting bigger with the years) but at my age I limit myself to golf nowadays. Used to play semi-pro football, played soccer at Texas A&M (not a national powerhouse, for sure, but had a lot of international players), swam on a swim team in high school, did gymnastics before that, have trophies from basketball, softball, volleyball, track & field, and even bowling teams here with the PD. I used to wake up & know why I hurt after a big game of some kind. Now I just wake up with some ache & don't know what I did to get it. But I'm in pretty good health otherwise & I think that is attributed to all the running & jumping & stuff. Keep playing and stay safe!

Never really got into a soccer as a kid, probably because my school played cricket, rugby, and hockey (on grass). Cricket was my sport until about 10 years ago. Got into golf about a year ago and now totally hooked.
Big Al - what's you team? My son is a Tottenham fan, so I tend to follow them, but nothing serious.

It's a little different but I'm into fencing.
I fence Sabre at a reasonable level but my foil is not so hot. That would be my main sport.
I also play a bit of rugby and now and again Judo.
It keeps me fit anyway.
