I began law enforcement when I was 17. My parents signed agreeing to allow me to join the Army's Military Police Corps. I served the United States Army faithfully until Sept. 1994 when I joined the civilian force. I am married with three wonderful boys. I'm very heavy into Community Policing ideas. Well, that's about all I can think to say about myself. http://www.officer.com/ubb/smile.gif

Ok, I'm not sure why I keep getting this first page, but when you get to it...just click on the link that reads: OilChump.html and it will lead you to my little homepage.
Let's see...I'm 36 years old and I'm a Spagpusher. Translated: I push spaghetti for a living. Hey, it's not the best job in the world, but it has managed to support myself, three kids and two brothers who needed a little help from me.
I'm the daughter of a retired cop from Baltimore. We moved to Pensacola, Florida 30 years ago (Wow, it's really been that long!). I'm a very devoted single mother of a 15 year old boy and two daughters, ages 14 and 8 1/2 (the HALF is very important!). All are little redheads with blue eyes just like their mother.
I like law enforcement, comedies, writing short stories, poetry, coffee, soft towels, Tom Hanks, our kitty cat, bird and iguana, ice cream, boxing, semi dry white wine and when my car makes it across town!
I don't like rude people, poor movie plots, litterbugs, broccoli, people who don't replace a fresh roll of tissue on the roll, my mean nosey neighbor, bad report cards and marbles!
I think this was a great idea, TC. I'm looking forward to seeing what others have to say about themselves. Especially, how Dave has 7 kids and his oldest one is about to turn 9. Got some twins in there somewhere, Dave? http://www.officer.com/ubb/wink.gif

Rebecca.. that page shows up because you have to name your first page index.html or all your contents of your root directory will show instead.
As for me, I live in Cincinnati OH, well a suburb actually..but its still the same. I like photography, web design, digital graphics design, and screenwriting. I watch lots of movies and am a big critic. I also like flowers and gardening. Oh and George Clooney!
What I don't like is my old nosey neighbours (Rebecca don't we all have them!), arrogant people or know-it-alls, rap music and deadlines.
I am not married and do not have any kids but some friends of mine have a two yr old whom I adore. Its always fun to spoil a kid rotton and then give him back to his parents http://www.officer.com/ubb/smile.gif
And yes... I too am interested in hearing about Dave's kids.. and especially hos poor wife!

Just lose the monocle, and install a big handlebar, and it'd be pretty close.
Nice photo, Rebecca. My poor, sainted wife. What miserable SOB would inflict 7 children on their wife? Well, y'all caught me in a tiny distinction I don't generally disclose, but hey we're all family, right? My eldest daughter is indeed 9 next week, and my wife is ** tomorrow as well (shhh). I have 4 foster children: 14, 2-15, and 16 year-olds. My biologic children are 9, 7, and 5. Every one of the lot is a girl! It's just me and the dog.
We all live together in a 140 year old farmhouse in a perpetual state of renovation on the shores of (well, across the road from) beautiful Lake Champlain. Summer here is awesome! Fall is beautiful. Winter is variable. We are currently in Mud.
My teens love rap; I counter with opera (Wagner), bagpipes, Bach and Vivaldi. My wife is from India and we were married in Calcutta in 1990. I am blessed to have come 10 years with this sainted woman, especially these days when marriages seem to last only as long as the proverbial snowball. Spent 13 yrs in the Army (Armor and Infantry), and the last 4 doing my current work.
It is my pleasure to be here with ALL of you.

I'm the guy that finds your stolen car. I'm one of the few cops that most people love to see....
Unless you're the one driving the stolen car. Or caught chopping the car into parts. Or selling the parts. Or changing the numbers. Or....well, you get the idea.
For many people, the love of their life is their car. Spouses may come and go, but don't screw with the car.
I love my job.

Some threads are not meant to stay behind... and this is one of them. With all of the new members we've had in the recent months... I thought it might be nice to bring this one back.
I have three updates since my last post here:
My 8 and a 1/2 year old daughter is now nine (and already working on her birthday list for next june)... one of my brothers has moved out... and, I sold my iguana. At four foot long, he just got entirely too big to keep. It was him or one of the kids... and while it was a tough decision because he was so much quieter than the kids, I think I made a wise choice. http://www.officer.com/ubb/wink.gif
So, anyway... if any of you would like to open up and tell us all of your deep dark secrets... or even your not so deep and dark secrets... we'll be listening!

Hey thanks Rebecca for bringing back this thread for us newbies.
I have a few sites that I would like to post. First, is my bit** site. Got a bit**? Come here and gripe. It's good to just "let it out" sometimes. http://www.insidetheweb.com/mbs.cgi/mb1152460
Another site, that is BRAND NEW, is for LEO Spouses. I hope someday that it turns into something big. But, it won't get that way without visitors. So, just take a minute and stop by. I am still touching it up and doing some last minute things. Cuz SPOUSES are important people too! LOL http://www.officer.com/ubb/biggrin.gif I have been to other sites for spouses where they want your name, address, telephone number, and a copy of your husband's badge and SSN. That is BS. Nobody should be asking that kind of information. That is why I never joined.
***The main page has a temporary problem.I will post the link again later!***
*note* There is a link there to a discussion forum similar to this one (but free, ads, etc.) Anyone is welcomed there, not just spouses.
Have a great night. http://www.officer.com/ubb/wink.gif

Anyway,
As far as truth & tell, jiminy, reading your listings is entertaining, informative and enjoyable. I fail to see what having me in there, messing things up, will add to the post... http://www.officer.com/ubb/rolleyes.gif
Didn't I tell you how I screwed up just trying to sign in?
Sigh, http://www.officer.com/ubb/rolleyes.gif
I have been a LEO for appox 14yrs +/- a month or two. I live and work in the Atlanta area. I am both a policeman full time plus I am a deputy sheriff and work with them 3 shifts a week. http://www.officer.com/ubb/biggrin.gif
Up until last month I was the commander of our DUI Task Force. I got hurt (wrestled one drunk too many?) and had to have back surgery. Then I got the opportunity to assume command of a desk. http://www.officer.com/ubb/rolleyes.gif
The Chief made me his Assistant Chief so as to unruffle my tail feathers over losing the Task Force. I mumbled a little and then took the position (NOT!). http://www.officer.com/ubb/biggrin.gif
My childhood sweatheart and I eloped on our senior prom night and got married on a 'blustery' may 13th. I had been 18 since april 29th, 2 whole weeks!
We have 2 kids, a girl and a boy. http://www.officer.com/ubb/biggrin.gif
Jane and I were married 20 years and 5 weeks when she died in my arms with a brain tumor.
The young'uns were born right after we were married. Angela after 11 months, april 23rd.
I asked Jane if she could cross her legs and think pleasant thoughts for just 1 more week so Angela could be born on my birthday, but noooo, she had to spit her out then and there! I only asked for 7 measley days!
David was 2 years later on dec 16th. I rode a motorcycle in snow and temp. in the teens forty miles from a detached assignment in LaGrange to Atlanta's Ga Baptist Hospital. It didn't matter after I found out that it was a boy! http://www.officer.com/ubb/biggrin.gif http://www.officer.com/ubb/biggrin.gif http://www.officer.com/ubb/cool.gif http://www.officer.com/ubb/biggrin.gif http://www.officer.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

My granddad died when I was 9 or 10 and I wanted my children to know a little of our heritage. So we went to south georgia to find our family grave sites. Family living down there told us where to look and when we arrived and I showed the kids their great grand parents graves. I saw that my granddad's birthday was dec 16th... Goosebumps went up my spine, it was mid-summer.
I think I covered everything like the rest of you except my web page. I gotta warn you though. Everytime I go there to modify it I screw something up.
Until it has totally ******ed me off and I'm going to delete it and start over.
Well, what did you expect? I told you I messed up something as easy as signing in!
Besides this thing... computer, and stuff in it... web page among other things, doesn't like me.
But that's alright, I hate it too!
I have proof it does.
Every now and then my screen will go completely blank except a tiny white dot in the middle. The dot will get larger and larger until you can tell that this dag-gum computer is shooting me a bird!
Now you tell me! If that isn't enough proof that it don't like me, then I don't know what is...
Oh yea, my page;

I went to your page and started LMAO when I was reading your first paragraph. Those words I could have sworn..I've heard them before! My husband HATES days! It's strange how some like days and fight for those shifts, yet others love to work nights. You are right, the SCUM come out at night, so it seems. If it weren't for them, I wouldn't have overtime money in my pocket! Yep, skips past hubby's into mine. http://www.officer.com/ubb/biggrin.gif
DH works the 4:30-2:30am shift. Anything else is well....boring! http://www.officer.com/ubb/wink.gif http://www.officer.com/ubb/wink.gif So how many of you go looking for a drunk the last hour of your shift? Heck, its almost guaranteed overtime. Especially on a Friday or Saturday night. Just sit down the street from the bars and wait for someone to blow a stop sign! LOL

Well, I'm 33, married with a 9 year old daughter(previous marriage). I'm a patrol Deputy in Central Florida.
I grew up in West Virginia, and with the poor job market there, my best chance of getting ahead was go into the military. Right after graduation, I went into the Army as an MP.
I got out and got a job with an agency in Virginia. This lasted 2.5 years until I moved to Florida.
I didn't get the job that I was supposed to have down here(LONG sad story), so I had to spend 4 years doing a job that I really didn't like. For 3 years my life was like a country song...miserable job, divorced, lost my truck(tree fell on it during the storm of the century), and got divorced.
I finally sucked it up and put myself through the academy while I worked my regular 60+- hour a week job. It took 6 months, but was well worth it.
I'll hit 5 years here in October, and wouldn't trade it for the world!

Spark? Gina? Is that YOU? http://www.officer.com/ubb/biggrin.gif
Ok a little about myself...
My real name is Lisa. I am 29. I am a state police wife and I have two children, ages 3 and 5. We live in Vermont.
Hubby and I met about 10 years ago in a nursing home (of all places!). I worked there as a dietary aide and he made raisin runs to and from the hospital as an EMT for the local ambulance company. Our parents had been friends for a long time, and had met each other previously but neither one of us remembers. I guess we impressed each other to peices! We also went to high school together. Hubby was one grade ahead of me, and again, we passed in the hall never impressing each other. We met in 1990, one year and two years after we both graduated high school.
In 1990, hubby entered the US Coast Guard and went away for 8 weeks to bootcamp. Surprisingly, I was still here when he got back. LOL http://www.officer.com/ubb/biggrin.gif We then got engaged and he was transferred to Fort Myers, FL. I stayed back in Massachusetts to do all the planning. He returned 6 months later, the day before our wedding. We were hitched and both flew back to Florida where we lived from 92-96. We had one child there and then transferred to Gloucester, MA aboard the USCGC Grand Isle. We had our second child here. He spent about 6 months on that, and then made rank and we moved to Newport, RI. He was the XPO aboard the USCGC Point Turner. To make a long story short, the boat was decommissioned and then we were transferred to Point Judith, RI to a small boat station. The same one he started out at.
He had always dreamed of being a police officer (his brother is a trooper also..it's in the blood) and finally started filling out applications everywhere and testing for what seemed like a zillion departments. My fingers were papercut and my tongue was sore from packing envelopes with resumes. It was worth it in the end. Funny story-I was rummaging through the mail one day and saw an outline of the Vermont State Police , what they pay, etc. I was like, "Yeah right! That aint much! We can forget that one." Well, that is where we ended up! Strange...
Jon went through the 5 month academy while I lived with my parents. It wasn't FUN for either of us. But we made it! http://www.officer.com/ubb/biggrin.gif
You can find the link to my hompage here: http://www.homestead.com/cowcountry/welcome.html I had posted it somewhere else before, but for all those who didn't see it...take a peek. There may even be a picture of me in there. If you go to the vspgrad.html page.

I don't post here often, but I lurk daily. I'm not in law enforcement, I develop film, and take pictures for the local newspaper. Just about all of the local Police Departments get there film developed at my store. They could get it done by state police, but their stuff gets put on the back burner, so it's quicker and easier to have me do it. I will also on occasion take photos for the departments.
My Father was an SP in the Air Force for 20 years. My cousin works as a detective for the DA office. His daughter is a police officer. My late father-in-law was a police officer, who worked in the same district as Daniel Faulkner, different squad though. I also have several LEO friends.
I have been researching the Faulkner case for a while now, and spend a lot of time argueing with Mumia suppoerters on different message boards. Anytime there is a post here like the one last week from Hate_da_Police expect me to be right behind him pointing out the FACTS to him.
I'm 35 years old, been married to my wife for 12 years, and have 2 kids, one of each.
The only picture I can think of is this one. I'm the bald guy with the camera. http://www.geocities.com/justice4faulkner/me.GIF
Well that's about it, I hope I didn't bore you too much.
Oh, by the way. To all the LEO's out there, THANK YOU! Keep up the good work.

Rebecca, thanks for resurrecting this topic. I must have missed it back in April. No picture of me but here's the bio...
I'm 32, married to a SAHM, and have 3 daughters aged 3 years, 20 months, and 5 weeks (yes, my wife and I are nuts). We're in the process of selling our home and buying another in a nearby town. The new house has a view of the north end of San Francisco Bay. Pending any problems with an inspection next week the house is ours. Now I just have to get this one sold. Wish us luck.
I've been a cop for 8 years and before that I was a reserve officer for 2 and half with another agency. I've worked patrol 4 years, motors (traffic enforcment) 3 years, and investigations for the past year. I recently transfered from fraud to narcotics so I'm growing out my hair and my wife is not happy with my new look. Street level narcotics and catching thieves has always been my favorite part of the job (they go hand in hand). Our county is the methamphetamine capital of northern CA so there's always plenty of work.
I also served in the reserves and then CA National Guard as an infantryman (hope that doesn't disappoint my tanker pal in Vermont).
I commute on a BMW R1100GS (the Ford Excursion of motorcycles!) which I bought new in 94 a year before I got married. I figured once a got married I'd never be able to buy a bike again so I broke down and bought something really cool. It is the greatest motorcycle in the world. To quote the line often used by HD riders "If you gotta ask you wouldn't understand."

Thanks for the thought, LR, but no disappointment here, man. I got 11B too (sssh, I don't tell many people that). Had to get it when I was assigned to VT Military Academy as NCO School Instructor. Only problem was figuring out where to strap down the goodie box when we went to the field. http://www.officer.com/ubb/cool.gif
Good luck on the new house. We bought our first in Nov. 98 after many years of renting. Still working on it, but it's worth every bit of effort.

Well here goes. Like some of the other posts I visit very often, but not post much. I turned 30 back in Mar. I spent ten years active duty in the Coast Guard. Was stationed in Portsmouth, VA, on a Cutter then in Miami on two different Cutters. I was stationed with a friend of Trooperswife in Miami (Mike and Noel). I was a boarding officer in Miami on one of the Patrol Boats. Loved Miami, but the pace of operations got to me after four years. So pulled up stakes and went to the Coast Guard Academy to work in the Police Office. It was good duty, they sent me to FLETC and got to work two Presidential visits, a visit by the Sec State and one by the Prime Minister of Jordan. I am in the CG Reserves as a fire arms instructor for the Cadets and OCS at the Academy. My real job (if you could call it that) is with the Veterans Affairs Police in Western Massachusetts. Moved here because that's where the wife is from. I am from Baltimore, MD. The wife and I have been married for 10 years and have a 6 year old girl and a 4 year old boy. The only picture I have on the hard drive is of me after I joined the CG, I will try to figure out how to put it up.

Rebecca,
We are running a pretty close race. I'll be 36 this year and have been married and divorced 3 times http://www.officer.com/ubb/eek.gif. You think I'd learn by now huh? I dont actually like to count the first one (at age 15) but since I have a beautiful daughter out of that marriage I guess I better count it.
I love good spaghetti, Spent the 1st 27 years of my life in Central Florida, Single parent, yep, did that too, hate broccoli and rude people, not only cant stand people who dont replace the toilet paper roll but hate it even more when they dont replace it with the tissue hanging the "right way" (over the top, not from the bottom)and I could live off of ice cream.
Been in Law Enforcement in Southeast Georgia for the last 8 1/2 years. Done it all (almost), Corrections, Warrants, Court Baliff, Investigations, Road Patrol, K-9. Recently promoted to Lt. in charge of our new Sheriff's Office Sub-station. Last husband was a cop, current significant other is a cop. What can I say?
My father was a cop mannnnnnnny years ago. He also ran the local ambulance service in my home county (Volusia, Florida) before it was ran by the county, was an undertaker and also was the marine search & rescue unit in our county. Whole family was EMT's etc. Guess it was fate that I would get into a similar business.
So now y'all know a little about me (maybe a little more than you care to) but like dkiefner said----we're all family, right?

I'm an "over the top" gal, myself! I can't understand how those other poor misguided people think that it's proper to roll it the other way and then it rubs against the cabinet when you tear off a piece... and touches all of those germs and things. We more politically correct toilet tissue folks know that there's only two things the tissue should touch... our hands and our... well, thank God for soft and cushiony!

Isn't it a small world???? Willy is up in Michigan right now. He's an XPO. I don't know if you keep in touch or not...he and my husband were stuck to each other like glue. They rarely were allowed to work together because they were too much alike! Pull over every boater they could find!
We haven't seen them since 1995. We hope to see them again next year before they transfer again. They'll probably head back south.
Nice meetin ya! http://www.officer.com/ubb/smile.gif

As is usual when I get on this thing, I'm rushing to get ready for work. If it's not that, I'm rushing to go to bed.
I'm 36 years old, white male, and married to the most beautiful woman on the face of the earth. We have 6 kids ages 4-20 and everything in between. I've been in law enforcement full-time since November of 1984 and was an Explorer before that. Graduated from Idaho State University wih a B.S. in Political Science. When you have a Political Science Degree, B.S. is the only kind that seems appropriate.
The majority of my time has been spent in patrol. I've also worked investigations and am currently working as a motorcycle traffic officer. Can't believe I didn't do this years ago as motorcycles are one of my passions. I think I will be here a while unless I go down hard or promote. Have finally been thinking about doing the Sgt. thing lately.
I have several pictures I could put up if I only knew how ( one of my favorites is from my resident deputy days with my ford explorer, AR-15, and absolutley usless Rotty) Actually she wasn't totally useless. We had quite a collection of the neighbors shoes and other thing on our porch most mornings thanks to her. Quick description: 6' 220lbs, sandy blond hair that is quickly becoming distinguished (the parts of it that are left) blue eyes.
I currently work for the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department in Nevada. It is a great place to work. We live out of the city however out in the middle of nowhere. Thus the name DesertRat. No paved roads or street lights out here. Just miles and miles of sand, coyotes, jack rabbits and assorted reptiles that bite or sting. It is beautiful. And at night, well, the stars speak for themselves.
Anyway, that's what I can come up with opn short notice. Off to the showers so I can slide into the wools and hit the bricks. Pocket thermometer hit 117 in the shade yesterday. (Thank you Sir may I have another) Y'all stay safe.

As for the picture with the fridge magnets, that was definitely NOT my house. This was taken during a search warrant, hence the two BAGS OF DOPE I'm holding up. As for the magnets. They were already on the fridge, but it was my idea to use them to hold up the copy of the search warrant and arrange them to say "BCSO DTF WUZ HERE" I'm such a little devil!! LOL

Well, this seems like fun. Here goes:
I call Louisville, KY home but my first nine years of law enforcement experience was in central and northern Kentucky. Hello all, hi Rebecca. Thank you for your help on getting around here. Will look at Links. Subject, "Bulletproof glass", I wrote a thank you for all the Officers and their families. Way I was raised. Respect.
I don't have a personal web page. The FBI has more than a few pictures of me.I do have a possible picture at Indian Country Today Newspaper for an article on Democracy, I wrote. A Leonard Peltier supporter, who is a mean and low down TX indian, put one up in front of indian people and Peltier buddies and said it was me. Nope. Made that poor Govt.woman a target for hate, murder. You got it. American Indian Movement (AIM) will pay big Gangster bucks for a picture of me.But. I am working on a project to recruit two very hardcore and well known but very spiritual AIM men to bring some programs to the Oglala Lakota. The FBI SAgent,I support created it. I have not told him about the AIM men.Don't tattle on me. Ok? They could get hurt for talking to me or FBI. We are talking the 3 toughest men,I have met in many years. Make a War Cheif look like a whiney baby.Is a purely spiritual and a healing matter. Desperately needed.
If we can pull it off,it will be the FBI/AIM/POMA/NOKOMIS.Project.
Subject is healing. Alcoholism/Drugs help.
AIM told me if I did not sit down from supporting the FBI,they would put it on the Net and "send button" all the crazies (worse than me) after me. It is ok, the FBI said I could say mean things about him/AIM after the way they treated me. FBI is smart and have known it for 25 years. Tried, threats, shame, lack of logic, destroying my work with the Tribes, to get me to stand up for Cop Killer, Leonard Peltier. Answer is, was, shall always be, NO. I don't have a death wish, I just don't like being bullied. Sets a bad example, to the Nations and this Country to excuse a Cop Killer. It is called seperating the regular folks from the Tribal Leaders/President/etc. Life means Life. No parole. They terrorized me,and threatened my whole bloodline, and yet again the Heros of Law Enforcement on many levels, came to my defense. The FBI said if I don't quit telling off Cop killers, without notifying them first, I will get hurt. I tell em, they started in with me first. They always do. I am a Tribal Law kinda woman Chippewa/Mohawk/ Mohican, NOT an Outlaw.Like the song though. Each day is my last. I spend 7 days a week triple shifts, long hours arguing with Anti-Govt.hate, Communists, Marxists, Cop haters, racist, bigoted, c'este for brains,ex-cons, militants who are tearing at the fabric of this Country, and Democracy, and Law Enforcement.I get tired as I am alone on this "beat" as the NPPA Site is working on other projects also. I am one American Indian and they are many. But, I come from a long line of warriors, USMC, ARMY, Cheifs, War Cheifs, Sachems, Treaty Signers, my Mohawk Grandpa rode with General John "Blackjack" Pershing against Pancho Villa.( standoff). Nam VETS, NEVA member. Mukah Clan Defense of Ojibwe.
I talked about my illness. I can function.
I write long long notes,500 years of indians and the Govt.etc. is hard to do shorthand. An indian story is not linear,it's related and interconnected like a web, with many lessons.
I am a half a century old and young at heart.
I used to be an avid gardener, cook, roses, herbs, vegetables. I was raised on a farm and lived in the big City. Never lived on Rez, so not good with apathy, crime, poverty, drugs and alcohol on Rez. My work was with the ICW Law. I was a Speaker for one Nation and it became 525+Nations. A promotion.
I am divorced from a car man. He and I both worked for Ford Motor Co.I sold trucks and cars.Did well. Two goldfish. My daily lesson on life. Keep swimmming.I adore history and Documentaries, ancient Law, Tribal law, Tribal history, Constitutional Law.The Great Documents. Love learning. A manic is a terrible thing to waste or can do 5 things at once. My computer gives me fits, and does not mind. I work it hard daily.Type to music.
Love music.Pavarotti,(3Tenors),Top Gun CD, Top Gun Anthem, Danger Zone( killer drums)I, like all indian people love the Drum, Amazin
Grace on Bagpipes,Gospel Music, Wagner,Celine
The work I am doing is making me very tired. I am alone and it is hard.Anyone ever want to help mess with the small minds of Cop haters, you are so very welcome to join me. I will die when I see how long this is.Sorry.
I thought I saw a note from someone else who screws thing up.I do grandiose screw ups. You?
------------------
Not all American Indians support any Clemency for Leonard Peltier. I am asking for your help in keeping this cold blooded Cop killer in Prison. SA's Jack Coler and Ron Williams of the FBI were defending the Oglala Lakota people and were executed at close range on June 26, 1975.

That is why I pass on the history of the Nations, the story of the great Trees, and dynasties that sought shelter under them.
My sis said when we visited my families graves, that a soul gets kinda lonely and likes a visit now and again. Good words.
I think I covered everything like the rest of you except my web page. I gotta warn you though. Everytime I go there to modify it I screw something up.
I can relate, I am the one person that can screw up making a loaf of bread in a machine.
I was raised on the best way. Homemade.Damn machines are taking over the world.Butif my computer could make and bake a loaf of bread? It would be very grand. Grind coffee beans in my harddrive. Fry an egg on the monitor. It also fries my brains sometimes.
Until it has totally ******ed me off and I'm going to delete it and start over.
Well, what did you expect? I told you I messed up something as easy as signing in!
Besides this thing... computer, and stuff in it... web page among other things, doesn't like me.

Subdivide it,higher profit level.
See? Easy.

Nokomis... I see you made an effort but you're still having some trouble with the quotes and bold, aren't you? http://www.officer.com/ubb/wink.gif Here's the link for the info sheet on those again...
http://www.officer.com/ubb/ubbcode.html
Just go down to the "bold and italics" section and the "quoting other messages" section. That's all I want you to read right now. Once you get that figured out... we'll teach you some of those smilie faces. http://www.officer.com/ubb/wink.gif
I fixed the above quote as best as I could for you... I hope it's ok. Keep trying hon... you'll get the hang of it soon enough! http://www.officer.com/ubb/smile.gif

Here goes.
My name's Steve I'm a 43 year old Retired London police Sergeant the last six years being a Team leader on one of the six Hostage Rescue Teams. I retired after nearly 20 years service and live in the County of Essex with my dear long suffering wife Jill. During my service I was a resident Protection Officer for members of the British Royal Family (Prince Andrew and Sarah Fergusson aka The Duke and Duchess of York). When I retired in '97 I took up writing and had 2 books published about my life in the Police both I'm pleased to say were Best-sellers. Now I just can't shake law-enforcement out of my system I guess doing it for so long and the writing about it gets you hooked?
I've just been lucky enough to obtain a Permanent Resident Permit to live and work in the United States, my wife and I will be immigrating on November 7th. Oh yeah as I said I can't get it out of my system http://www.officer.com/ubb/wink.gif So I've applied for a couple of smaller departments in the US if any of you know of a Department that may be interested I'd love to hear. Also I'd love to post a photograph but have absolutely no idea how to even start :O.
You all take care, I hope to be joining you soon http://www.officer.com/ubb/biggrin.gif
BEST WISHES

Steve, I read your multiples notes. Ya'll don't worry, everyone has different dimensions of their personalities.I am, when I stand up and speak for or about, the 525+ Nations, grandiose and spiritual speaker. They are hurting and need the help. Me? Commas and grammatical structure.
That is wonderful what your work with the Royal Family was. My Mohawk/Mohican Uncle, lives in England. U.S. Navy, Retired. Aho!
The Loon or Mong Clans of the Anishinaabeg were the Royalty.Queen of the Mississippi.
Would you start a subject about your work? I will pop over and give the British a hard time, for the first conquering job they did here in America. Set down some guidelines.
Maybe help you market some books too.I know you said small town, but I am biased. The FBI/SSA would love to have ya, or pretty please come protect me from AIM gangsters. Your wife, will have an immediate and guranteed best friend. She like rose gardening? Great place to come up with ideas on how to save the world. Enjoyed your note.

Rebecca, I saw your note. Yes, I am still struggling with the quotes, bold function.I read the part on the Link you sent me, I kept thinking my mouse pointer would do it. But, nooooooo, not to be my luck.I will keep trying. Thanks for helping me.Can I stay?
I am a visual( pics) not text learner.
You have a very talented and special people here. Law and familes and citizens who want to learn. That is wonderful.I like it here.
I spent 8 years in food and beverage service industry.Hard work, but the benefits is you get to experience the wide spectrum of human beings. LE and generally all blue collar workers treated me the best. Sweethearts, and they tipped too. Sometimes,I had to tip them.<g> Touch my person again and ya gonna get hurt. I can fix it so you cannot drink in this town or any town ever again.Best was, do it again guys and I will start a rumor you cheat at poker. When they needed to talk, we had a LE "pour" and the coffee ready at all times.Trouble? My "GUYS" would be there in a heartbeat.Wear a badge? I love em all. Once in a while they would let me win at poker. Or, once in a lifetime I would let them win. A waitress/waiter is a great human being. Most never consider how smart with a comeback and intelligent, and bullet proof you have to be. LE's buddies.
Anyone ever says to you that feeding and giving service to people is not important humanitarian work, knows little of value. I worked hard and I am sure you do too.Aho!
My Chippewa Cheif Grandfather said that to lead, is to feed the people. Translate it to food, words of comfort, building up,love.
Anyone ever gives you a hard time? Send em to me.I will make em suffer. Called TIPS.<g>

You seem to be very giving, Nokomis... so just think of you learning the quotes and bold as a favor to me... http://www.officer.com/ubb/wink.gif
Can I stay?
Even if you never figure it out... you can stay. http://www.officer.com/ubb/smile.gif
I spent 8 years in food and beverage service industry.Hard work, but the benefits is you get to experience the wide spectrum of human beings.
Not only do we get to see the whole spectrum... we get to see them when they are all hungry and grouchy! Not a problem though... I usually accept that people will be snippy with me right at first because they are hungry and grouchy... but once I get them a little food and beverage... I usually see a change in attitude. If they keep it up, I slam them with all their food so I can get them out of there quickly. Sure, some people prefer to get everything at once... but if you're gonna be mean to me just because you're having a bad day... you don't get my table any longer than thirty minutes tops and out the door you go. If you don't leave... I'll go to the front and get a family with a screaming infant and seat them right next to you. http://www.officer.com/ubb/tongue.gif
LE and generally all blue collar workers treated me the best. Sweethearts, and they tipped too.
Most LEO's tip good. I've had a few who were tight wads, though... and not very pleasant, too. I had a table of five coppers once and the other four had to apologize to me for the attitude one of them kept giving me. What did I do wrong? I poured unsweetened tea for him instead of sweet tea. I thought he was going to burst a blood vessel or something! He kept rolling his eyes at me and snorting. When the others apologized, I just told them that it was ok... I could handle him. He looked at me as if I was crazy to think such a thing... but the truth is, I handle nearly every single aspect of your dining experience... and this old gal knows it. All of my "mistakes" will appear to be "mistakes" ... but inside I am grinning from ear to ear the madder you get. http://www.officer.com/ubb/biggrin.gif
A waitress/waiter is a great human being. Most never consider how smart with a comeback and intelligent, and bullet proof you have to be.
The comebacks are a "must" and it looks like you had a few snappy ones in your day. I haven't had to worry much about being man handled except when I worked in a bar... but in the dining room you still have to have a great personality with a good many people. Some don't want you to "play" with them... so you have to be able to read your tables right away. Most people do appreciate it if you can make them laugh once or twice while you're serving them, though. Something that always gets a laugh is when the meal is over and they are sitting there rubbing their full bellies and moaning about how stuffed they are... and I inform them that I'm not providing them with "carry-out" service. And I love April Fool's Day because we serve wrapped mints with your bill. I always pick out the loudest mouth at the table and make sure he gets the "mint" that has been emptied out and replaced with a folded up piece of paper that says, "GOTCHA--- HAPPY APRIL FOOLS DAY!" ... I make great money all day long every April first. http://www.officer.com/ubb/cool.gif
Anyone ever says to you that feeding and giving service to people is not important humanitarian work, knows little of value. I worked hard and I am sure you do too.Aho!
Well, I don't know about it being so humanitarian because I'm doing it for the money... and not as a means to help the hungry. However... you do have to be personal in some instances. I have been at this particular restaurant for going on seven years now and I do have people that specifically want me. Yes, I take care of them... but more than that we've become friends, as well. I only see them at lunch or dinner time... but I have come to know them very well and they have learned all about me over the years. One older couple who has been eating out forever and has actually been my regulars in a few different restaurants... I've known them for probably twenty years now. When her husband died right before this past Christmas... she came over to where I worked just to hug me and cry on my shoulder. I was so busy... but I spent as much time as I could with her and gave up new tables to others so I could be with her. When she finished, I bought her dinner and walked her to her car. She's doing better now, but she still tells my managers how much it means to have "family" when she comes in. So, it might not be truly humanitarian... but it is caring when you want to make it that way. http://www.officer.com/ubb/smile.gif

I am 32 years old and joined the South African Police Service in 1991 after i studies law at the University of Port Elizabeth. I am employed as a legal officer at the Provincial Head Office in the Eastern Cape province and are assigned to Operational Response Services (Public Order and Border Police).

I enjoy my family life, work, golf and farming on the side-line (1 pig, 6 goats, 20 chickens and a sheep). Hunting is also one of my passions, but do not have alot of time for that.
I am relatively new on this forum, and enjoy the convesation, postings and BADGE BUNNIES.

well, if anyone is still reading this after 80-some posts *smiles* ... I started my LE career as a driver for the University Escort Van at Towson University. Then, moved on to being the student supervisor. After 3 1/2 years of that, I graduated from the University (with a degree in Communications) and while waiting for a full-time job, was an auxiliary officer for the same University. In 1993, I started with the United States Park Police, and went to the academy in southeast Georgia (FLETC). From there, I volunteered to come out to California and work in the Field Office in San Francisco. In the 6 1/2 years I've been out here, I've managed to become a Driving Instructor, a Field Training Instructor, Crime Scene Search Officer, RADAR/LIDAR operator, Intoxilyzer 5000 operator, EMT, a member of the Western Region Special Events Team, a Mountain Bike Officer, then a Dirt Bike Officer, and now a Motor Officer (Harleys)... I've worked at the WTO / IMF rallies in Washington DC, been assigned to the Grand Canyon National Park twice (Presidential Detail and Wildland Fire detail), Detailed to Point Reyes National Seashore (Firecamp Security), Yosemite National Park (Homicide investigation, and B.A.S.E. jumpers protest / death by failed chute), Lake Mead National Recreation Area for special details, I went throught the CONTOMS class (Counter Narcotics Tactical Medical Support)and much more. I guess the chance to travel and work these special details and assignments throughout the country is what keeps me here, while the local agencies are making much more $$$$.
I am not married, although I have a girlfriend of almost 2 years ... have no children ... and am 30 years old. I do have a website, which tells a little about me, and a little about my photography (gotta supplement my federal income somehow!) ... It needs work, but at least I finally have it up and running ...

The Clans of indian peoples? They have Crane Clan. It is the Echomaker, to sing out to the Nations. It is also the same sign of defense of the Martial Arts, and Shaolin defense weapon. The Crane bird, will kick it's enemy to death. It is a powerful symbol.
In the movie The Karate Kid,it was used by the kid who mastered it.One kick, and it's opponent was down, to the ground. It is a very spiritual move. The power comes from the belly. The force of the kick, a complete connection of mind, body, spirit and power united. I have the Billy Blanks Tae Bo, and it is the hardest workout I ever found. The Crane, in lightening speed, can deliver such a kick as to knock a hole in a wall, or send it's opponent flying. It is also a mental state of mind.Observing, learning the defense power of animals. Clan knowledge.
The words here....show you, how it feels...expresses itself, and the energy and power released.....

On the Tribal Law, I regret to say , no I havn't. Truth be known, I was so happy to get through Georgia Law I didn't think I would ever go to those books again...

Kinda hard to find text on true Tribal Law. It is based on Clan societies and Democracy in the purest form. Ancient Tribal Law.

Life's funny, now I get to make rookies have my same early outlook on Georgia Law. Life's sweet, don't 'cha know. It isn't near as painful when you are on the opposite side of the 'pulpit'.

I spend 7 days a week talking with/at/around militants, govt haters and especially Law Enforcement haters and this is the only place, I feel safe and normal.
But then we all know I am still not "normal".

Don't feel bad Nokomis, most of us aren't "normal" either! http://www.officer.com/ubb/biggrin.gif http://www.officer.com/ubb/biggrin.gif
Who wants normal? I'd rather have interesting.
Your posts here are interesting. If you are taking on AIM and the other militants on the res, then you have definately got a big job in front of you. I sincerely appreciate your support of law enforcement as I know you must be surrounded by folks that hate us all.
You remind me of an old Lakota Yellowfeather that I had the pleasure of spending some time with. He could tell a good story, let me tell ya!! He shared some good advice with me that I will pass on here as well:
"There is no way to go. One makes the way by going."
I always thought that was good. And I have always remembered it.
Oh well..don't worry about "normal". Because I know none of us really are. I think you gotta be about half crazy to do this job! http://www.officer.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

What a sweet thing to say. Mii gwetch. Thank you. Law Enforcement has been good to me. I am working on a bunch of militants right now, to get em to do something rather than gripe. Build up instead of tearing down. Bring a Vet home from the VA for dinner. Make a pharmacy run for an Elder. Sponsor a child. Vote. Take a Grandpa to Church.Start a Community Out Reach for Law Enforcement. I am a much bigger militant than any of them. I also brag I have a FBI File! Nanner,,Nanner.. They are jealous.
The American Indian Movement is led by Vernon and Clyde Bellecourt and Dennis Banks. AIMGGC. They are all Chippewa and my relatives. Not smart ones, but my relatives.
Dennis Banks is right now hiding on my Grandmas Rez. He thinks that will keep him safe from me, when I am ticked at him. Which is most of the time.He sends another AIMster Capo after me. Dennis was on the A&E American Justice Doc. on Peltier called Murder at the Reservation. He was lying as usual. The NPPA Site was mentioned. Vernon and Clyde are members of my Rez. Vernon is in big doodoo with some of the Black Hills AIMers.Got called before a AIM Tribunal. Kinda of like war crimes stuff. Geeesh!
There is a plan for a new Site called DryRez.com that is being started. I am really happy about it. I sent word to Russ Means, Oglala Lakota of Autonomous AIM to help us. He does not like the FBI either, but he cares very much for his people.
I did not come out of In the Spirit of Crazy Horse, thinking Peltier was a hero. I came out ticked off to no end at AIM AND Peltier.

Hmmmm...that name...seems familiar..
The stories of the Tribal people have many purposes. They are passed on and they are on the spot recollections of a occurance 300 years ago. All things are interconnected even though they seem like they are not.

Yes, but you have a Police Cheif or Sheriff to report to. I have to tell on myself to the FBI. They are bigger, tougher, and carry more firepower than I do. They also have a interesting way of putting together sentences. Like,"You are under arrest". Ya know?<g>
Thaks for the note.

Well I suppose I will put all my info. in here too. But before that I will have to agree with all the other females on the board that Glock is one good looking man. I was not able to get some of the other pics, dang it... Anyways as soon as I get a pic of myself I will add it. I am 24 years old. I live in north east Washington State. I am in the Police Reserve Academy and my other job is to drive a forklift for a plywood plant. I have two children and am recently divorced. I love Law enforcement and some day hopefully I will go full time. By the way for all the single male popo's in here---I am 5'7" Tall, long blonde hair and blue eyes(never hurts to try--lol) Yes I am a Badge Bunny, but I want to wear the badge too, not just play with it--LOL http://www.officer.com/ubb/wink.gif

thanks for bringing this thread back up with the currents...i enjoyed learning more about everyone and seeing some pics. i dont have my personal page finished yet, but i have an LE page, on which you will see some quotes from in here (i asked permission to copy them). this is the name of the site: http://community.webtv.net/jellybean40/PolicePoems/
my name is Jill, i live in southwestern NJ in the sticks, farm country. i'm 41 and i'm a distribution/window clerk for the US postal service (i'm unarmed http://www.officer.com/ubb/eek.gif )
i was married for 10 yrs to a police sgt. he was an MP when we met, stationed in Weisbaden, Germany. i learned alot about LE, as we went to college together and i did most of his papers for him http://www.officer.com/ubb/wink.gif...then when he went up to the academy i typed up his notebook, and also learned alot, wished i had moved onto that as a career, but my plan was to work part-time while being married. when we got divorced 9 yrs ago i got the postal job since i needed to support myself in the lifestyle i was accustomed to http://www.officer.com/ubb/rolleyes.gif
i miss the police "family" but have stayed involved in things such as rallies for Daniel Faulkner, and other LE functions. my hobbies are alternative rock/concerts (i used to write on-line reviews, but there got t be too much to write), growing herbs, creating webpages (hopefully for profit soon), salt-water fishing, boating. the family has a house on the water in Avalon so that makes for great summers.
i'm not married, and dont have any kids, i have a 10 mo. old puppy who i think is going thru the terrible twos. i have made alot of great Epen-pals and friends around the country, both in LE and not. i enjoy emailing long, rambling letters back and forth and i'm suprised how many other also enjoy it. http://www.officer.com/ubb/biggrin.gif
i enjoy reading the posts in here...lots of very knowledgeable ppl, and fun also. thanks for the forum. when my webpage is up i will post it.

LOL, yes i WAS a blondie...i lightened my hair to a dark blonde. However, my H HATED it! (he exclusively likes 'the exotic look'). I'm disappointed about my CD drive- i wanted to post a better picture of our beautiful baby boy.

I can't get the hang of the picture thing just yet, but i will introduce myself again. I live in Arizona. I am 29 1/2 years old and just starting my LE career. I am the mother of a 14 year old daughter, and 13 and 10 year old sons. Have been married for 11 years to the boy i met in high-school. http://www.officer.com/ubb/biggrin.gif My daughter is deaf and has made life very interesting for us. Learning sign-language was hard but as i get older it only gets harder. http://www.officer.com/ubb/confused.gif My 13 year old just wants to learn to drive as soon as possible so he can have my car. http://www.officer.com/ubb/smile.gif My ten year old really hopes i get to become a police officer just so he can brag to his friends i think. When i got the job as a volunteer in the homicide bureau, he hi-fived me. it really made me want it all the more. I have 2 dogs, 1 cat who thinks he's a dog and 2 normal cats. Lots of fish and if my daughter had her way we would have every animal ever born. Its great to be part of a very interesting message board and hope to learn so much from all of you.

Hope there's no internet stalkers or real world stalkers in here! http://www.officer.com/ubb/biggrin.gif I'm 31 years old and have been a police officer for about 10 years. I'm not as computer savvy as most seem to be, so I have no clue as to how to post my picture, but I will say this. Do you know who Lorenzo Lamas is and what he looks like? He was on a TV series not too long ago where he and his Indian partner were bounty hunters.

Glad to hear it Mack. I wish I could convince all the cops I know how they can find time to read if they decide they want to. But first they have to find the right author or genre. Then they have to get a library card LOL.
<My compliments and a tip of the hat to all the ladies that have posted pictures. You are all beautiful.>
Thank you for the compliment http://www.officer.com/ubb/smile.gif

I had to postpone my flight a couple days ago. http://www.officer.com/ubb/frown.gif The Lt. in charge of the background investigations wants me to get a ticket from 5 years ago off my driving record. Long story and now it is coming back to haunt me. I'm meeting with an attorney next week to see what the possibilities might be.

I couldn't see the pic...not sure if it was something on my end, but just thought I'd pass that on in case I wasn't the only one. Was looking forward to seeing you.

Thanks. My wife did the whole thing. She's worked really hard at it and has done a fantastic job. I'm very proud of her. I wanted the pic posted so that I could let everyone here know who I am and also I thought it would be a nice touch to add a face to go with the names that people were contacting for the business. Good luck Katey. Until then I remain "a mystery" http://www.officer.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

Otay, here's more than you ever wanted to know about me. I'm fairly new here and love everyone here. So far http://www.officer.com/ubb/tongue.gif My name's Rod, and I will be testing in a few places from May(Portland) to July. I'm 33, a little late on the uptake, but better late than later http://www.officer.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

Anyone who would choose a profession that puts their own life in jeopardy on a daily basis to stop crime and make our streets a safer place to live has got to be someone who is generally concerned about public safety and making a difference in todays society. Instead of being ridiculed and criticized, police officer's should all be commended for the difficult and dangerous work they do.
I enjoy helping people and am always the first to offer my help or services to people who are in need of it. I wish to contribute to making this world a better place in which to live. One where our children will be safe. Although the level of crime and enforcement may vary everywhere, my attitude towards the problems to be dealt with will always remain the same. Becoming an impartial (or excellent) police officer is not an easy task and that preserving the Ontario Provincial Police's reputation as they head into the future, can only be accomplished through commitment and dedication. Reducing the threat of crime and enhancing a sense of safety and security. Giving a positive influence in the quality of life in our society and developing environments where crime cannot exist.
Richard
P.S. I don't have a website anymore, but if someone is really interested in knowing what I look like, they can request a picture through email.
