Investigative Hold

I called up NYPD APD today and was told the same thing I was the past couple of weeks, that my investigation was on 'hold.' Now I passed everything up to this point, and I even called my investigator a few weeks ago when I first found out and she said its because shes not finished with my case yet, thats all.

Therefore I'm not going to keep calling her, but last week when I called CRU they told me that my investigator is still waiting on certain paperwork to come back to her that she had sent out and to call back next week (which would be this week). In the meantime, just this past Wednesday, two detectives came to my block to talk to my neighbors about me. When I called APD today, they officer on the phone told me everything is looking good for me thus far, and I passed my character assessment but my investigation is still on hold (probably because they are still awaiting paperwork).


Anybody know what's up with being on paperwork hold?

I am this close to being 4Q'ed.

I wouldn't sweat it...Be happy its only paperwork..lol...I know your BI can't forward your case to their Lt. until all your paperwork is all accounted for...You have plenty of time to get it corrected....You have a good exam number and the fact that detectives came to your block is a really good sign (at least thats what my BI told me)...You should have a good chance for July

Yeah, thats what people have been saying. But July is the only chance I have left so otherwise I'd have to start again.

I'm hoping and praying though like everyone else.

Around last may i started my process for nypd. 2 weeks later my friend started. He made it into july 2008's class. Me on the other hand was held back on investigative hold, because of paper work(official civil service exam results) I didnt make it into july. I sat on hold for 6 months and got off hold and was 4qed, 2 days before the jan. class was cancelled. Now i sit here waiting praying for this july to work out.

Not trying to worry you, if you can find out what paper work is missing so you can help get it to them.

Hmmm, OK, I guess I ought to call my investigator then.

Like I said, last I called her, which was probably 2 weeks ago, she said shes "not finished yet," and didnt mention anything about me being on hold.

I guess I'll call again.

What exam number are you?

dont bug her to much, just make sure she isnt forgetting about you... You still have plenty of time, but these holds can take forever. My exam is 6011. Good luck

Your worrying to much man, this is the nature of the process.
Your investigator needs to have all those papers back and everything in order (transcripts, notarized papers, phone calls to references, work references) all in order before your packet can be signed off and 4q'd..

its all out of your hands i am in the same boat i am just waiting for a transcript from fema to come in and i will go straight to my investigators office and hand deliver it to her.

there is about 3 months left till july and you are in your final steps. its not like you just re oopened and have to start the whole process with 3 months left.

Transcripts from FEMA? What are those?

I thought you were talking about college transcripts at first, and in that case, I gave her my sealed transcript from college on the day I met her.

yea its a transcript for college that i needed and i ordered it and its on the way im just waiting for it.

my investigator told me as far as her work goes she is done just waiting for me to bring that in so she can have her supervisor signoff on my paper work.
