if you wear BDUs, etc? I've worked with officers that do it, and I work with one now that does. I've never cared for it, but the new TDUs that we're getting seem like they're either too short or too long in the inseam so I thought I'd go with the shorter and blouse them.

Recently got 5.11 TDU's, the pants are meant to be bloused. Our dept doesn't blouse so I got the longs and had them hemmed. no more stupid string at the bottom to mess with and they now look a little more professional because i don't have a bunched up mess of fabric at the ankle.

I thought about getting them hemmed, but I thought maybe with the longer leg that the cargo pocket may actually be a bit lower down on the leg perhaps rubbing the knee. ??

They seem to be fine for me. If they have both lengths in stock at the uniform shop do a little comparison. I would assume that the only thing that is different is a little extra fabric at the bottom.

I think it looks silly for civilian policing. Military? Sure.
But that's just me. I wear the Tac-Lite's that don't even have the drawstrings.

That's what I think.

I agree, except in the case of a tactical team or something. For regular patrol, nope.
