Wow, niice. I'm more infatuated Coronado's mustang. The LEO driving this one ALWAYS has someone pulled over when i see him.

I wasn't by any means trying to be a jerk about it so don't take it that way... It just seems that on this forum not searching before you post is a borderline cardinal sin. Just trying to save you any future comments about it. ;)

The Carbon Motors E7 really is a dead horse here though. A new thread pops up about once a week...

I understand the excitement though...it's pretty cool-looking. Let's see what actually comes off the assembly line 2012...

Umm isn’t Coronado like an island city that’s about 100 feet in all directions? Why do they need a super fast car? By the time they get the accelerator pedal half depressed they are out of their city.

It's actually an isthmus... the strand highway is just like a smaller freeway.

I thought it was a peninsula (water on 3 sides) because an isthmus is a narrow strip of land connecting to larger landmasses (water on 2).

The strand is the isthmus (where the main highway is). I did write that confusing.

I could never, ever work there. Half the people they stop are Navy personnel. Many of them are SEALs. The Naval Special Warfare Training Center is located there. A few of my friends are currently BUD/S instructors. One of my closest friends down there was stopped and cited while he was on his way to BUD/S. I would not/could not ever cite a SEAL. They do enough for our country to get a pass....

On his way to BUDS? Not a SEAL. Still in the military though and most of them get a pass from me anyway.

Yeah, that would suck to patrol a place that small with such a huge population of military.

On his way to BUD/S (The Compound) where he works as a Phase II instructor. Not on his way to BUD/S Training. He has been there, done that, done four deployments on a TEAM.

Oh so you were in the Teams?

Us married guys weren't required to live in the barracks during BUD/S except for during certain times in p1 and during all of p3. But hey, that fact probably wasn't in "The Warrior Elite" so all you SEAL experts wouldn't necessarily know that.

The more you know

Oh, so did you make it through SQT? Did you get your blue helmet? Did you ever measure the sun going down with your fingers so you would know that the end of another evolution was near? Ever play the wheel of misfortune?

Trust me, they have many straight aways, the bridge (where everyone goes 70+), and the Strand. They lowered the speed limit i believe last year to 25 mph on most streets. I remember a chase where some guys stole a few motorcycles in front of the back sentry gate.

That should be very interseting. I am sure Ford will come out with something decent before the death of the CVPI.

I moved rom L.A. to Miami. Some have tried the Hemi Charger but the problem was [though the car was fast] it has many problems. The Charger needs extensive and expensive repairs after about 20K miles. The small windows and tiny trunk don't help either so for now most have switched back to the CVPI. On top of all that replacing the brakes and etc was double the cost of the Ford.

Commented on a few other threads about it but haven't seen the actual specs until this point. And wow! 420ft-lb. of diesel torque!

I wonder how quickly this will catch on, if at all, with some of the local agencies around here...I feel like it's going to be hard to replace the prowess and presence of the Crown Vic.

After 2012 the CVPI won't be an option so they'll have to replace it with something, regardless of how good the replacement may be. My bet is that most agencies will go with Impalas or hybrids. Some are already making that switch in preparation for the death of the CVPI.
