I was just looking through some youtube videos of NYPD ESU and some other things and stumbled across this video:

I, myself haven't heard it on the streets.. is it still in the planning phase? Seems pretty cool
What do you guys think about it? And do any other PD's use something similar?
Also, wait for the last commentary - it made my day

I have YET to see one or hear one in ANY rpm at ANY detail. I would love if they installed this rumbler in the rmp's. It sucks that people cannot get out of the way of a siren and automatically forget how to drive to MOVE. At least this siren can wake them up a little to get going and move outta the way!.

they should just put LRAD's on the top of RMPs. people would sure get out of the way then. i think we have 2 mounted on armored trucks

lol that thing looks like something you'd see in a movie. is that the same thing? Why is it docked on the ground? I'm a little confused on that one.

they had a show on one of the discovery channels about the LRAD. when it is on and not pointed at you, you don't hear it and it does not bother you. BUT when it is aimed at you, it becomes ear piercing loud and will force you to run out of the way, or in theory "disburse" lol. it is normally mounted on a vehicle to be moved around and the higher up it is the more area it can cover although it comes with a stand and can be mounted on the ground with a tripod

Manhattan gets all the toys, mean while in other boroughs we drive around with cars that have no brakes.

Manhattan is where the $$$ is.
It's funny when all my friends refer to Manhattan as New York, and all the other boroughs as the Bronx, Queens, Brooklyn, S.I.

My mother is the same.. Manhattan is New York City, but if you go into the Bronx or Brooklyn, you're not in the city anymore. Crazy. :p
