Their website says their hiring for entry level and lateral officers. Anybody have some insight as far as the morale, size, promotional opportunities, and overall opinions on this department? Also, do they offer an out of state testing process seeing I'll be coming from Phoenix?

Check out downeypd.org Downey is not testing for the entry-level recruit right now. Only for the academy grad and lateral. Gesekee19 is one of their recruits in the academy right now. Send him a PM. They have a corporal program,and the morale appeared to be good amongst the officers. I was told the brass is highly respected there as well.
