I know there are a few SDPD Officers on this forum, so I was hoping you guys could let us know what the talk is around to department about the recent announcement to cut your pensions.

I read the article on the Officer.com entry page about the Police Department estimating that 35 or so Officers would be leaving before July 1. The POA estimated it to be closer to 70. What neither of them addressed was what that would mean over the long run, in the next year or so. You can bet your bottom dollar that even more, hundreds potentially, will be leaving for other local Agencies in the area, as soon as they start hiring....at least thats my thought.

Yours?

There goes incentive to stay. Rough roads ahead for SDPD...

Id like to know how much money does any officer make, like whats the take home roughly around for a new officer.

Also is there OT available for Officers? If so who gets to work the OT and how much OT is there.
