Hey guys.. Scheduled to meet my BI this Wednesday. This is what I have gathered in my possession.
1.) All required APD Forms Typed, Signed and Notarized.
2.) Proofs of residence and support while unemployed (notary attesting so)
3.) Original Birth Certificate
4.) Original Social Security Card
5.) Detailed Earnings Statement (dated back 5+ years)
6.) Driving History Printout from DMV. *No traffic violations, 1 accident from 2005 - no injuries or damage (fender bender). I also have copies of the accident report.
7.) W-2 Forms dating back 5 years
8.) Proof of car insurance(?) Not sure if required but have a copy as evidence.
9.) Original High School Diploma
10.) Official Transcript from College
11.) Selective Service Card (bringing just in case)
12.) Passport (ok, maybe I’m going overboard)
---------------------------------------------------
This is a double check - Does anyone see any documents that I am missing? I'm trying to avoid the inevitable follow up appointment to hand in missing documents. Like you, my schedule is extremely busy right now - hard to schedule things like this.
Thanks in advance guys, I appreciate it ! :)

Make 2 copies of EVERYTHING you have. Your BI will thank you for a saved trip to the copy machine. Also, if he/she loses something you can just mail or fax it to them.
By the way what exam number are you?
P.S. Don't forget to give her the money order and ask him/her how big the class will be.

I will most definitely ask how big the class will be.. I'm sure the investigator will be thrilled to answer ;)
I'm exam 4022
I appreciate your advice man and I'll keep everyone posted if I hear of any news on class size.

Hopefully those copies of your transcripts are SEALED. Also, make sure you have the transcripts from every college you ever attended, not just the one you graduated from. Besides that, you seem good to go in my opinion. Plan a large chunk of your time for that meeting though.......my meeting took nearly 5 hours and I thought I was pretty prepared. I did manage to have everything she needed, so it only required one visit, but there were a few things I had to type out while there, and write a few statements on. Good luck.

I wonder what happens if you don't have car insurance because you don't own a car. I suppose they waive that?

I don't have a car (live in Manhattan), so I had to get a letter from the Insurance company that insured my last car. I suppose if you never owned a car they would have to waive it though.

Yea I went to 3 different colleges so I got all 3 transcripts. They were a pain in the *** to get and kind of costly. Then when I got there she didn't even look at them because I was using military time. It was kind of annoying.

that sucks.
Did those College's give them to you on the spot?
I had an "extra" official transcript from when I applied to grad school (unopened) but I'm gathering it has to be specifically addressed to the BI at the precinct. Let's just say the College I went to doesn't define efficient. I'm hoping to call today and ask if I can pick it up in the morning before the interview. If not, hopefully an unoffical will be suffice until the official gets mailed over.
Colleges suck.

I got them mailed. I believe. I don't remember driving to the bronx and I know I didn't drive to VA. So yea I must have got them mailed.

I took mine directly to my BI. As long as they are SEALED, it should be no problem.

ok guys here's the update I promised.
I feel the interview went well (don't we all?)
I still have to fax over an insurance paper that proves there are no claims pending against me on an accident I had in 2005.
My BI was extremely nice and we talked about some life events besides just the boring and dry required information.
I later asked the inevitable.. "Have you heard anything on class size? When there will be an academy?"
The answer was a little shocking.. Not sure how well the BI would know this information but they told me that they are thinking about starting up an academy next month ! Is this possible? Very, very strange news..
Also about class size, the BI said it may be 250 candidates per academy - One next month (if it happens) and one in July.. so 500 total within the next 4 months.
Has anyone heard anything similar to this? This sounds, if true, like great news to me. I'm still curious and don't know what to make of this..

If true that sounds great... I heard this back in January a few guys mentioned this... What seems to be happening is the Obama money taking effect and them trying to find a way to hire 500 plus cops instead of a meesley 250 for just july... The heat is turning up on the streets especially now that spring and summer are soon to come... I hope your BI is credible and right about this ...

That would be fantastic!
I guess we'll know soon enough, if a class was getting geared up I'm thinking some of the lower exam number guys should be getting Mini-med letters/calls in the next few weeks.

Wow, that's crazy. Unlikely, but crazy non-the-less. Why wouldn't they just save themselves the trouble and put everyone in the July class?

Yeah that would work.
I myself am a low exam number guy, but my BI is still active although I've passed all the exams. It's been two weeks. Will it be done in time for those mini med letters?
