Retired from NYPD as a 1st Grade Detective (Detective with Lieutenant's Pay) and went almost straight to FLETC. He's been there like 2 years now.

It varies depending on the area of the country you are in, but in the NY metro area, the starting pay is a little bit over 44 grand.

The VA police DO NOT go to FLETC. Are you sure he is not at Ft. Hamilton as a DoD police officer?
