Hi. My name is Mike. Im in the process of returning to law enforcement. Ive been away for @3yrs. I started out as a jailer in the county jail and spent 5yrs doing that. Never made it to patrol and i let that discourage me and quit. Wish i would never have done that. About a year later i got an offer to work at a city jail with a promise to go to patrol about a year later. Cool, i thought. Then the city was going to sell the jail(we leased out our 250+ bed jail to other states) to a private contractor. The "good ol boy" system got my patrol position. I watched an out of shape, uncertified guy get my job. So discouaged i left, and spent time with my family. Now that my kids are older and doing their thing i want to make this career goal a reality. Im 32 and turning 33 next month. But i REFUSE to give up !
