Hello all.

I have been a long, long time lurker (2000) and I use to post as "Ken", but about a year ago major life changes took place and I just stopped posting. I never stopped reading however.

Just a little about me, if you are interested. I am a former Marine, served 8 years, 6 of those was down in 29 Palms. I got out of the Corps 4 Sept 01. I was only a few days from being sworn in as a Deputy in Cali, but turns out I failed the psych (huh, and all that time I thought it was just the Privates that were making me crazy, guess it was me). Well I landed a job with Boeing Security back in my home town of Seattle. Not a bad job, we do a lot more than most private security companies so it keeps it some what interesting. However I found myself hating the rain again and missing the desert. So I got back on the horse and am trying again to get hired by a department. So I am have way through the process with the Border Patrol. The more research I did into different departments the more USBP seemed to be a good fit with me. So that's my real basic background. Hopefully I can contribute in a meaningful way.

Welcome Migra. We could certainly use more BP agents. Talk about changes, 29 Palms to Seattle!

Welcome to the forum, migra. I like the name. I am a current INS agent out of the San francisco district office. Keep me updated on your progression thru the BP processing. A couple of guys in my office are former BP. Good luck.

LA MIGRA! Welcome back! USBP will always be special to me. They saved my *** more than once when they were my ONLY backup! :)

Thank you all for the warm welcome.

JMTBOP: right now I am looking at my SF-86 I have to fill it out as soon as I get a couple more addresses updated. But I have kept copies of all my old background packages. This will be my 3rd SF-86. I have my medical exam on the 4th. After that it is just hurry up and wait. One thing I have learned with these processes is that patience may be the most important trait one can have, barring honesty.

DON: I will do my best to be the best I can and carry on what those agents did to earn that special place in your heart.

Just want to wish you luck Miga. I know how long that background is. The hardest part is just remembering everything for the SF-86. When i went thru the background, i turned in the SF-86 in about January and then spoke with an investigator in February. I was then hired by June. As long as you have a clean record, i dont think you should have a problem. if you ever have any other questions just pm me.
