My Dad

I've mentioned it to a few about my Dad, who had been very ill, but he passed away today (Saturday) around lunch.

Not like me to be shortwinded, but I will this time. I just ask that you keep the family, especially my mother who had been married to him for 47 years, in your prayers.

I am so sorry for your loss Sgt Dave. I know exactly how you feel at this very moment and my heart goes out to your mom in her difficult time. Its rough but it gets a little easier as the days pass. :(

I just received the insurance money for the kids and it broke my heart to open that letter. I just wanted to give it back and get my mom back. It hurts so much i've held the check for three days cause i cant bring myself to even look at it. It just seems to final. My prayers are with you. :(

I am so sorry, Dave. My parents have ben married 55 years so I don't know what it is like to lose a parent yet. But, just in the last year, my Dad, soon to be 81, has started having many problems. We are making the drive 5 hours to see them tomorow because I somehow feel the need to see my parents.
While I know it will hurt me when I lose my parents, it's my son I worry about. I told him how lucky he has been to have a set of grandparents still here at age 25 and he's very close to them. He's going to take their parting very hard, especially that of his grandfather. But what wonderful memories he will have.
Concentrate on the happy, fun time and maybe that will help ease the pain some.

I am sorry about your Dad, Sgt. Dave. I will definately keep your family in my prayers. I lost my grandfather last year, the first immediate family member of mine to die (i have been lucky). My gfather was like my father to me. It was very hard. But I came to the realization that he was better off because he had been suffering so bad. This helped the pain I was feeling more than anything else, knowing he wasn't suffering in a hospital bed just so "I" wouldn't hurt. Think of it that way and maybe it will be easier for you. Sorry to hear that. Your mother is in my prayers. I lost my Grandfather when I was nine, we were very close, and my great uncle in 2000. I hope your mother the best in this very hard time. And I hope you the best aswell. God be with you and your family.

You will always miss him, though. I went through this ten years ago with my father, and still miss him terribly.

She's really going to need you now, especially on holidays anniversaries etc. I think those are some of the hardest times to deal with the loss. I wish there was something I could do to ease the pain your family is experiencing.
