I just finished week one of two week defensive tactics instructor school. I have not hurt this bad since college football 19 years ago, and still don't recall being this beaten down.

I have to say, I have learned so much, and working with these instructors is truely awesome!

I am so glad it's the weekend, everything is killing me. I have co-students in my class that are in the mid 20's and they are smiling and have such a bounce in their step. I'm jealous, and miss those days of having no pain and running like deer.

My hair hurts!

I'll be the psycho baztard to say it, but - man, I envy you!!!!

I keep trying to get into DT Instructor School, but we're short of people right now. You know how that goes. "We can't afford to let you go for that long, right now."

Bummer. I wish they'd take breakfalls out of that stupid course. NO officer should fall that way.

Sgt.,

Man, its crazy, I just wish my body responded like it used to. I tell you what, it is amazing the sh_t I have learned so far. It is crazy the way one can manipulate others, the escapes, takedowns, nerve stimulation, ground tactics, control holds, etc, etc.

It is alot to take in. I hope I will be able to stay on top of these skills and teach others half as well as I have been instructed.

You will. If you're not taught others before, teaching -in and of itself- is one of the best ways to become more proficient at those specific skills.

When do you get pepper sprayed?

From your description I went through the same ACT Instructor school a year ago, and I know how you feel. (ouch), I go to the Israel (hint) method Instructor school in 2 months, and am seriuosly working on the cardio.

Going to be intense.

As I tell my students, WORK OUT!!!!! If an old man with grey hair can do this, so can you...

Core strength is the key!!!!

Good for you Yellowlab, as Sgt. Slaughter said, teaching is going to keep you current, and doing the moves will be natural out on the street...

Good luck.

Be safe pulling back into the thread...

Dep D,

Thanks, its very worth it.

Sgt. Slaughter, no pepper spray, been through that before, I rather get tazed.

I had to go to the hot tub this morning and get deep tissue done to balance me out, and I thought I was in farely good shape for a 40 year old!

You're lucky. Arizona sprays Instructor Course students as part of the process. I don't think they Taser anyone as Taser Instructor is not a State thing.

Thank God for weekends!!!! :D
