Hey, I was in the Coast Guard, that ain't funny! Well, OK it is. Spent many exciting days in storms in the North Atlantic on a 210 ft. Cutter with a helo deck. So it had a tall superstructure to accommodate it. Being very top heavy it rocked and rolled easier than that dingy.

I was in the Coast Guard stationed on a 210' cutter as well. The mighty USCGC Steadfast, but all us "Deckies" called it the mighty "Rustfast".

I was on the USCGC Alert which coincidentally is on the west coast now in Astoria Oregon, I discovered on the way to the coast. I should stop by for a tour if they still do that.

Yes I believe they do. After September 11th they stopped, but I believe they started doing them again. I've been on the Alert, never went underway with her, but was TDY on her for about a month.

Astoria, I miss that place. Also the Maritime Museum is on the same pier as the Steadfast and Alert, you should check out the museum too, it’s cool.
