Last night around 2AM EST on 2/3/02 my Mom fell asleep on the steering wheel and ran into the tree and tore the large and small intestine and had to get quick surgery as she got outta the car and tried to walk home but couldn't anymore and walked to the nearest house to seek help.

This Morning they did surgery and hopefully she'll feel better! As I got up and though I was going to school but was wondering why my dad got me up so late that I've first heard about the news, I was in shock! so I've put on my clothes and than we went to the hospital.

When I first seen my Mom I though she was dead because she had that dead looking face on her and I was getting very upset and depressed so I had to go to the other room to free my emotions, about 5 mins later I've settled down and went back with my Mom and started talking to her and trying to calm her down.

The Second time I've seen her I wasn't so upset, tommo i hope she feels better altho the dr's told me that she'll be walking!

Jake,
I am sorry to hear about your mom. She will be in my prayers. Thinking of you and hoping everything turns out for the best.

Sounds like she lucky to have a son as caring as you! Take care Jake!

Jake, you should have seen my son after his first brain surgery. But, I talked to him, played music for him, read to him.....even put the Braves games on for him.....and he remembers it. Even now, as he prepares for one and possibly 2 more brain surgeries, he is picking out the stuff he wants to hear, for me to read to him.....snd reuns of Braves games if I can find them.
So talk to your Mother, Jake. Remember to give her time to sleep. Or, if she's not unconscience, take a vcr down and rent some of her favorite movies. Just let her know her boy is there and he will help. Keep her spirits up! She's going to be fine but make her rest.

Jake,
Sorry to hear about your Mom but do try to keep her in good spirits as best as you can, lying in a hospital bed can be very depressing. BTDT. Also keep in mind that the painkillers (Demerol, etc) may cause weird hallucinations / comments, etc.

And once she's out of the hospital you be sure that she does not lift ANYTHING heavy for a long, long time. (BTDT also).

Mom will be O.K. you just be the great son that I know you are and take care of her in her time of need.
