Does anyone have any info on Hernando County Sheriffs Office? I know they are hiring and I know they pay pretty decent and that they are on FRS. I am more talking about moral, working relationships with community, working for the upper ranks, fitness, training, stuff like that. thanks in advance.

what is the pay? i see them all the time when im up there, but didnt know they were hiring or what their pay is.

They are hiring around 12 deputies from what I have heard. I believe they are starting their pay around $38,000 +/-. I have turned in application and have a panel interview on the 18th. You have to live in the county or a county that boarders Hernando. I have heard some positive things about them already from some of the people I know in other agencies.

I dont know much about the department thats why I am trying to get some info off of here. I know they do have a take home program but you have to live within the county. Other than that I dont know much else. Except they have FRS. I already have three years under FRS so that is why I am trying to go to an agency that has it. I dont mind the questions. If I know the answers to them I will answer. If I dont than I wont. HAHA I can updated you on my process through their HR department. I know I have dealt with one lady within their department and she works for HR. She has been very professional and great to work with. If the rest of the department is like her than I know I am going to enjoy working with them if everything works out. Their front office people are very nice as well.

Didnt know they were hiring as nothing is posted on their website. Who do you contact to put in an application?

I would contact their Human Resources office. Their main number is 352-754-6830. I had a panel interview the other day with them. They are nice people. Very professional. Good Luck. Let me know how everything works out.
