It was a cool concept but poorly implemented, and soon outdated with the use of LED technology.

Lasted a little longer than the Z-Lift lightbars lol

Yup, it use to be a real district office, but now it's regional services. I've seen a few highway chargers, but they weren't on the road. All of them are parked there usually. If they aren't there, they are at another district sitting there probably lol. I've seen the car on the road ONCE. I see CVE doin' some stuff, I think they're more in the industrial area streets than on regular city streets.

The last director before the current one marked one car per office and issued all the agents full Class A and Class B uniforms (with full high gloss leather gear, campaign hat, etc etc).

Almost no one wore them, so the uniforms have since been recollected from most agents and will be sold. Due to the budget crisis, rather than buying new unmarked cars, they have been slowly UN-marking the marked units. There might be one or two left in the state.

I can see the reasoning why they did it, but at the same time it was kind of a shame. They were slick looking cars.

Your guess is as good as mine... As you are probably aware, we just switched to a new badge design. Got rid of the small shield and now have the round border and star. With the introduction of the new badge they were supposed to consider putting the badge on the door instead of the logo. Some folks can't distinguish a LEO truck from a biologist truck since both use the logo even though one has blue lights, stripes, and says "State Law Enforcement"...

I saw a Highway Unit yesterday (BSO) turned onto Sample and went west, not sure where from there, he had his lights on and was going pretty fast. But then again, don't all when you're code three? Nerrr.....

Taylor, have you seen the BSO Charger slicktops? I think they are Traffic/DUI units?

Channel 10 did a story today about the Move Over Law. BSO and FHP were doing a detail on the Sawgrass and I-75. I saw some slicktop Chargers.

Yeah the DUI task force is going to all slicktops and they look nice. I have seen 1 slicktop that was a road guy and I'm guessing someone pulled strings to get that for him bc he likes to run traffic. Command can get unmarked v-6 chargers or impalas. Look out for some Challengers to be going to the highway unit too. One marked, one ghost graphics, and the rest unmarked.

Every car on the road runs on octane brother. Cetane for diesels. Ford Motor Co. never made a police package Marauder. They were basically a Grand Marquis with a 32 valve Cobra motor in it and really weren't beefed up at all. In fact, they were governed at 117 mph. I've read that FHP bought several and made their own modifications to them to increase performance and durability since they were never designed for patrol work. They had to have specially aluminum driveshafts for high speeds and stronger cooling systems as well as stronger suspensions and electrical systems to handle the rigors of the patrol work. They also fine tuned those cars for higher perofrmance but it was rumored that they ran on premium fuel. And when premium fuel was up around $4.25 a gallon, it just wasnt cost effective.

You dont see them much anymore because they only made them in 2003 and 2004. So even if you see a 2004, its already 5, going on 6 years old and probably has ridiculous miles on them by now.

I don't like the carbon motors car. looks like a knock off TL. just looks like an overkill on the build of it. police cars get into accidents a lot and that car looks like it cost a lot to build & service that car would be a fortune. like fixing a audi every day of week. Overall Point, WASTE OF TIME
