I have been invited to take the trainee test on Sat. 24th and I was wondering if anyone can give me any insight into what it entails. How hard is the written test? Are there any specifically challenging areas I need to study harder for?
I had read that for the physical you need to run 1 mile in 10 min or less, then I read 1 1/2 miles in under 12 min. on the site it says 440 yd run, but no time limit is given. What is correct? Also, for the 6 ft wooden fence, is that just a flat wall? Can you take a running start to jump up it? Any info would be helpful.
I've heard that it is not too hard and to just relax and it will be fine, but I am nervous and it's coming up quick.

hey there, the test was a p.o.s.t test so you have an idea of what it is. orange pd did accept other t-scores so people were showing up with them and they honored them. there was a total of three class rooms filled with people testing. while during the test you can hear the academy class in the rooms next to us getting drilled haha(jealous). as for the results of the test they wont be in till wed. according to the BI's if you get a phone call from them that means you passed if not then your failed. we took the pat in the muddy grass field with people slipping and falling every where!!! could not give a 100% cuase you would lose traction and have a mouth filled with mud and grass. we should of been timed on the mud run instead haha

hey there penny, according to the sarge there i think he said 9 open spots. but i did hear another official say it was 6. so we will say 7.5 spots open. there was about a good one hundred or so people there testing. alot of academy grads. i'm sure those guys will be top priority. ALOT of girls/guys were having issues climbing the wall. the obstical course was complete mayhem!! there was mud every where causing people to trip up and fall. i was really suprised they let it continue but then again just cause it's raining doesn't mean the scum bags dont commit crimes ,so it was benificial for everyone.

How many of their recruits wash out once they go 10-8? Orange PD always has 5+ recruits in every class. Are they just playing catch up to fill a ton of open positions, or are they washing out the majority?

yes sir, you get the notice today or tomorrow if you passed. but if you failed then you get the thin letter. my guess is people will get the letter some time next week.

Hi guys. How did the interviews go? I just heard from my BI today that pretty much the whole backgrounds unit is taking off until June-July. So as much as they'd like to hire 6-9 new recruits, they're not going to, not right now anyway. :( And yes, Orange is one of my three "frozen" agencies below. Sorry it didn't work out for any of us.

Im still in backgrounds with Orange and everything is going really well. I went in during the first week of April for an informal meeting and my BI said ill be in some time this month for a formal interview and to set up my poly. They are taking their time beasuse the academy isnt til sept.
