We are going into uncharted territory....dunno. I have hope, but I voted for the other guy.

I'm with Sarge, I voted for "the other guy", but I'm at least willing to give Nobam...er, Obama a chance. Not like I have a choice anyway, but I'm going to hold off criticisms until he has a chance to do his job.

What scares me is the way this state is going. Too much debt, not enough money is a horrible place to be in. I'm a Dave Ramsey kinda guy and I wish our government were that way as well.

I'm hoping for the best, but my bet is that Obama won't be able to fix the economy, even if he had the next 2 terms to do it.

The government allowed most of the industrial jobs to "migrate" to China/Mexico, and the intellectual jobs are going to places like India. Pretty soon, we will contract Canadian mounties writing tickets in LA. :)

I believe the state of The State will show itself beginning next month and it will be ugly. A lot of people are going to have to accept a lot less of everything before things get better. We built a house of cards folks.
Beginning next month State employees will be furloughed 2 days a month and most offices will be closed on the first and third Fridays of each month. The bottom 20% of seniority will be getting surplus notices. That doesn't mean they are getting laid off it's just a warning that it could happen. Of course the big boys and essential services will get exceptions but even they will lose some admin support.
Our Department leaders refuse to say if there will be an exception for Enforcement and that isn't good. Supposedly, some more information will be available on the DPA website on Monday.
