Any tips for finding a good, inexpensive dry cleaner? I'd ask for recommendations, but here in the San Diego area, there are too many to list and would likely be too far away.

How much is a good price to pay for getting your uniforms (shirt, pants) cleaned and pressed? Do you receive a discount for being LE? Discount for repeat/long time customer? I'm looking for a dry cleaner and want to know what to expect.

Also, I've seen several officers' uniforms and despise when their dry cleaner makes the creases incorrectly or does a crummy job. Any special instructions you give your dry cleaner?

Thanks!

Many guys use the dry cleaner at El Cajon Blvd and Highland. It's by far the cheapest (like 1.50 a uniform or something). Most cops care for cost more than anything. But I know a couple of real anal guys about their uniform, and they are fine with that cleaners.

When I moved into a new neighborhood, like the ad says, I let my fingers do the walking throught the Yellow Pages.

I came right out and asked what they charged for police uniforms.

I'd ask at the agency you work at. I use one in the City I patrol. I drop off and pick up on duty. Saves me from using my off time to take care of work related stuff. Also cheap.

The best deal I ever had in patrol, we had a dry cleaners near the station, The owner set up a cloths rack in our locker room and would come in 6 days a week, pick up our uniforms for cleaning and return them the next day. He would bill us on a monthly basis. It was great for everyone, you didn't have to worry about taking your uniforms home to your local cleaners.
