I am from FL, usually just on the Fl forum but I am very interested in applying to LAPD. I know they have the expedited app process and was wondering if anyone had any information. I know I would have to fly out there a few times and wanted anyone's insight. I am about to graduate with a BA in criminology from University of South Florida in May. I also had a question about the essay/written portion of the app process wondering exactly what that was. Any information would be great.. I thank you all in advance if you can PM me.

You would have to make two flights out to LA. The first time you would complete the written test, polygraph, fitness test, psych test and department interview. After the background investigation you will have to fly out there again to complete the medical exam and meet with a psychologist. The written exam is fairly straight forward and consists of answering a few essays questions, its nothing to stress over.
