Has anyone seen the paintings of numerous Costa Mesa PD logos painted on the pillars of freeway over passes and walls on the 55 and 73 freeways? It looks like their patch only there is a pig or something in the middle where the city logo would normally be. It's hard to tell what it is driving past it at 80. Just wondering if anyone knows what they are. It obviously isn't official.

Slow down to the speed limit (65 MPH) and perhaps you will be able to make out the pictorials.

How about we meet in the middle, 72.5 mph. 65 is way too slow.

Play it safe and you won't have to meet in court. ;)

I do, I keep a high visual horizion. Not only does it prevent me from hitting someone it helps me see those sneaky CHP units parked off to the side =)

I don't know. He may be impeding traffic at 65. A couple of years ago the Orange Country Register went to all the courts in Orange County. Under the Public Records Act they audited all the speed cites CHP issued on the freeways of Orange County over the past two years. Of the thousands of tickets, only one was for under 85 MPH. If you ask him to only do 65, he may become a rolling traffic hazard. :D

Nope, but they just disbanded their narc unit and are not sure what to do with 4 of 7 recruits in the academy.
