Well i heard their is 21 exams in front of me along with a group of cadets ouch and im exam 6011 lol. Umm i also heard the psych is good for 3 years and medical is good for 2.5. So thats good news i guess,

Just a question for anyone who knows when does 6011 expire?

I got a list in the mail on with dates of exam expiration's. 6011 is not on that the list though. 5000 is the newest test on the list I have and that one expires 06/30/09

Not for nothing, but did anyone forget about the promotional exams, which supercede any other exam for academy entrance?

This is for CADETS, SS and TEA's.

I think this next class will be full of them. 250 recruits that work in those areas are not hard to find.

Only time can tell, but IMO i dont think all the spots will be filled by them.

For 1 the cadets have to graduate with a bachelors to be able to get hired ( according to the civil service page) Now out of 500 how many of them do you really think will be graduating this past semester. Not only that its mid year most people dont graduate till jan-jun semester.

As for TEA agents, They need 60 credits that they did not need to get hired as a TEA. Now they may be working towards that or they may have no intrest in getting those credits anytime soon, and some of them are just not cut out for LEO.

SS I am not sure what the requirments for them are but i am sure its along the same lines of TEA. and whose to say they even took the NYPD promtional test.

Anyway it doesnt matter to me or most of us on here, IMO i do feel they will hire a few off the test. Good luck to test 4009 and low test around their, because my 6011 does not stand a chance.

Yea i am sure a lot of people are taking the JST, unfortunetly doesnt mean they are getting into jan. or july class.

was at APD earlier today and my BI firmly said Cadets who are ready are ahead everyone to get into the academy, and tests after the 5000's might have a prob

i overhead a random BI tellin his candidate that hes pretty much got no shot for Jan and they should resched a meeting sometime in Jan unless the class size changes, guys exam was 8000

thanks madcat..........I think the two exams you are missing are 5046 and 5047.......the first of which is my exam 5046....I wonder if that is close enough to the top to get in??

My BI made a good point when I spoke to her. A lot of the exams only have a few hundred or less names on them. Example: Test given to military personnel at an army base might only have 100 names on it or some walk in exams only have a few hundred names on them compared to the large scheduled tests with a few thousand names on them.

I was thinking the exact same thing just before. I was initially going to take a large scheduled exam in late February, but decided to take a walk-in sooner.

From the way I understand is that the list is established by the date you took the exam, and then by your exam score. List numbers have nothing to do with it now.

So, if someone took the exam on December 1st and scored a 71% (which is still passing) on it, that person will be higher on the list than someone who took it on December 2nd and scored a 100% on it.

Do I agree with it? Not necessarily...I feel that 70 is too low of a score for the exam. I think it should be raised it to around 80%. Also, I read on another thread that someone didn't have enough time to finish it? What in the world were they doing? I was one of the last few people to leave my walk-in exam, and I still had a good 30 minutes plus left too.

I here ya man. Well lets hope all of our Christmas presents are NYPD careers. The Chief Leader news paper said today that the deal worked out between the city council and the Mayor would keep the head count around 35500 bit it is only at 33300. They need to hire more than 500 people to make that happen. Cross your fingers boys!!!! Happy holidays everyone and be safe.

5046 here also, no call. I've been trying to get a hold of my BI for 3 weeks. Have an interview for some temp employment until an academy(Jan/July) but if 5046's are in I'll postpone/cancel my interview.

i would call your BI alot of ppl whos appointment were cancelled are being told that they need to reopen there case for missing there appointment. better to check abd be safe then sorry.
