Kenny, if you'll check earlier forums, this has already been covered. NYS does not accept out of state laterals. However, there is a way to do it. It's a long ridiculous process which involves jumping through numerous hoops and maneuvering through all the stupid NY bureaucratic red tape.

Long story short is, you apply to a dept, if they like you then you submit to the state your training records, and then they'll evaluate what you need next. If you want more info then pm me, as I have attempted this process in the past.

just be advised, this process beachcop is talking about is only acceptable by agencies that do not require you to attend their police academy.

Most of the NY agencies require you to attend their academy or an authorized academy (Nassau PD, Suffolk PD, NYPD, Westchester Police Academy etc)
