Hey Guys quick employment question, I finished everything up with my BI in October, and then the class was canceled. I took on a extra job (stock person) at a drug store near my house since my regular job is closed from nov to march/April. I just wanted to make some extra cash over break and not have too huge a gap of unemployment on my resume. But aparanty they pay you cash for overtime ( regular hours not time and a half) and it seems like hes trying to jipp me out of the first 20 hours i worked before i had a punch card. Now two questions 1) how do i report the job to my BI. meaning which form should i use. I called her and told her a day before i started but she probably forgot i told her and i just wanna let them know so i don't get jammed up. 2) How should i go about quitting. I have a great work ethic and ive never been fired and they're throwing hours at me but i don't want to work like that, and ive worked there 6 weeks and i told myself if i can make it 12 or 10 ill be in good shape. How should i go about getting out of the job? Should i report it to the department of labor? How should i handle the overtime thing? Thanks to anybody with more experience in this area than me.

hmmmm wow? just quit! leave on good terms 2 weeks and end of story. Just report what you made from your end of year taxes that's all. I mean if there's a record of it right? your getting a check and cash on the side for overtime? if so just tell her u worked there no biggy and don't tell her about the extra "off the books cash" And if the whole job was off the books then she doens't need to know anything. Trust me ppl go through unemployment esp in today's market it shouldn't affect you. Unless your seriously in debt and somehow your sitll managing to pay those huge bills with no income then that would set off a red light u nkow?

Thanks for the reply Norwich Cadet, no i'm not in any kind of debt. I just finished college and have it payed off already. I really just wanted to get some feedback on how to deal with the situation. I suppose ill give it another two weeks or so and make sure i dont do any more overtime. Im getting paid by check, but when you cross into overtime or work a holiday they pay you in cash regular hours might of even been less. Ive been payed only 40 bucks in ot so far so im not that worried abput the irs thing, ive just always been on such good terms with employers its a weird situation for me when i have a manager obviously trying to scam me, and i dont want to make too big a scene. I just don't want to get jammeed up i guess. Anybody else got any input?
