Well, my first night as a reserve officer started out great. We were en route to our first dispatched call and were almost hit head on by a drunk. We turned around in the ditch, got back on the road and pulled his arse over, but not before he had managed to pull in his driveway. He told us everything was alright, because he was home now. I think I just laughed at him. Good way to get introduced into such an exciting field of work, almost getting hit head on!!!

Also got to work two harrassments, an assault, a fight, and several traffic stops. All in all, it was a good introduction to law enforcement.

That sounds like an exceiting night. I am in the testing process in CA and hope to be out on the streets soon. Glad to hear it went well. Do you plan on becoming a full-time officer? Are you using this as an "in?" Thanks and take care. Stay safe out there.

Why is it that when these folks get home they think it's King's X or something? It's just like kids playing tag "I'm safe!".

I hope he got a free ride that night.

All the best. Take it from a brother in the great white north. I hope this is the start of many years of good service.
Stay safe my friend.

KenM,
Yes, he got a free ride to the jail. Also his drunk ***** father who came out and started giving us sh*t was warned that he was hindering official duties and would also be taken in if he didn't shut up and get away from the car. He backed off mumbling under his breath!

Goalie, no I have no plans on going full time. I am 49 years old, and have just always been interested in law enforcement and joined the reserve unit to kinda give something back to the community.

Thanks for your support and replies. Stay safe all, and God Bless.
