Are married couples allowed to work in the same department?

Hello, I hope you can help with the following:

Say there are two NYPD detectives who are in the Crime Scene unit who are having a child and get married. Are they still allowed to work together or does one of them have to transfer to a different department/precinct? I was told there's an official law that prohibits married couples from working together in the same department. Also, if their boss/sargeant hides their marriage from the rest of the department and even the IAB, what are the consequences for said person?

There are more married cops, court officers, corrrection officers, etc. than you can shake a stick at, including bosses and rank and file.

I know of 2 nassau cops who are married working in the same pct, and 2 brothers on NCPD in the same pct on the same tours (up until a few months ago when 1 switched)

"WHY" would anyone want to be MARRIED and work the same job ( other than your own business) with your spouse??? Only the "Alan Harpers" of the world are that sad ( bad enough guys want to turn "on duty booty" and code X action into "real" relationships! just wait until things sour and you see ex wifey get hot and heavy with your watch Sgt !!) Always had a saying, One gun in the relationship is more than enough! I've seen a lot of on the job marriages go bad, and when they do they usually go real bad, But I've also seen a lot work real well, my best advice is don't sh1t were you eat, if you're a couple, work different PCT's to avoid problems.
