How it used to work was APD(applicant processing div.) would send you a letter saying congrats you passed and to come in for your orientation. The letter would come about a month or two after you passed the test then your official score would come from DCAS like 4 months later, at least this is how it used to be. Anyone else feel free to chime in.

i haven't seen any results for this test. but the answer key isposted for almost every test that was given right after.
i took the walk in test back in september(8310) of this year and the only thing i have left to take it the oral pshyc.i'm hoping i will be one of the 250 in the Jan'09 class.

Call the medical division at APD and ask to schedule a medical. I guarantee that if you call the medical division and ask to schedule a medical, they will grant you that wish and schedule a medical!!!!!FOR EXAM #8050!!!!!!!!!!

Sweet! Thanks! Im assuming she only deals with Med stuff right? My issue is to correct a hold I was placed on from there for what I wrote on that mini med paperwork they gave everyone asking if anything has changed since your last visit. At that time, I had a Fl license and I had a recent moving violation. Im trying to get that cleared up without bothering my BI.

Hey jpnycPA, the number you should call is the APD office and ask if your exam has a list number. The number is 718-972-7344. When you call just tell them, my name is ____________ and I took exam #8050. Can I ask if I have a list number?

If they so no, you don't have one then more than likely, they are still processing the exams.

The weird part of it is that I'm form exam #8305 and have completed all my processing. I would assume your exam was before ours.

My process was that I had received a letter in the mail about showing up to Lefrak Plaza for the medical. I had try calling but was told to just sit tight and wait for the letter as they send it out to everyone.

(I stand corrected from what I found, #8050 was taken back in Oct of 2008. #8305 was taken in July of 2008)

I have an 83XX exam that I took two months before my 8000 exam, and received a better score and much better list # on. When I got the letter telling me to come in, it was using the 8000 exam and list #.

This is purely a guess, but I wonder if maybe they use the filing dates for the 8000 tests, and the actual month for the walk-ins. That would actually make a lot of sense to me.

yes...they go by the date the exam was taken and since the 83xx exams were taken prior to exam 8050, they would take priority.

I just got my results in the mail today as well...got a 98.8 and got a list number of 58..is that good? What exactly is a list number anyways? The weird thing is all the paper says is your score it doesnt tell you what to do next/if theyll let u know anything.

I got my exam grade and list number amost a month ago and it has a list number contrary to what APD assigned to me in January some time. A cadet gave me some weirdo explaination... something to the effect that DCAS list number is not accurate because of incomplete grading of the test... I think that's bogus since APD gave me a list number at least four months before I got my grade from DCAS. Anyways if anyone has the same issue let me know and if someone has an answer that would be great.... btw I have read ton's of old posts from this and other forums and they say it's not a good idea to display your actual list number..... someone can pretend to be you!

Candidates claimed the 5 point residency resulting in a higher grade. Therefore bumping your list number up.

just so you guys can get an idea on time frame.... i took 5047 in dec. of 2006 and my test wasn't even used for the last july class so you have time.

my advice to you is to just wait before you start scheduling things. In a few years when they get to your test you'll have to do updates, mini-meds and retake your jst anyway.

when they do get closer to your test they are actually pretty quick scheduling stuff. i reopened my case in august and finished the first week of september.

The reason your test wasn't used for July is because you didn't go on with the process in 2006/2007? So you reopened your test in august now they will put you on the list. Some of the 7000s and 8000s already went into the academy because they went on with their process right after taking the exam. Can someone verify this im just making this conclusion from reading the forums.

5047 wasn't used at all for the exam, regardless of when you opened your case, they stopped at 5046. no tests past 5046 were used for the last july academy. regardless of when you complete the process (a week after your written or a week before the academy starts) you have to wait for them to get to your test.

tests in the 7000s and 8000s may have been ready to go into the academy if it was a very very large class, but they stopped at 5046

the only way thats possible is if they recycle the exam numbers, i'm not sure if they do or not. if that was the case those particular exams expired right after that academy.... then the next written test adminstered used the same exam number

They do re-use exam numbers but that was before all this craziness started with classes of 274 instead of 1600, but now they are hiring in exam and list # order and they did stop at 5046 for the july class. there are like 45+ exams before test #8050 so unless they start with classes of 1600 again it's gunna be a little while before this exam is called

to tell u the truth i would not even schedule an app to do my medical or physical or any procedure. why u may ask? well because they expire withing a yr i believe and if ur bi does ur background check and all of that he/she would have to update all those files. i would suggest sitting tight...this has now become a waiting game. alot of people will get disqualified for their own personal reasons and alot of people will not wait around for the job because they nd the job now and need to take care of family or responsibilities. so it might happen faster than you think. juss my .02

Hey everyone. I'm exam number 8000 and a list number in the low 400's. I went through everything save for the final medical in 2008 and then hit a wall. I haven't heard from anyone since December '08, and haven't been able to get a hold of my background investigator for months... I think as of now it's a waiting game for them to get in touch with us. The schedualing department told me they are not schedualling anything for exam 8000 at this time. I've also heard that it may take until July 2011 before they put through a class larger the 250- 500 again. Anyone else hearing similar things? Sucks that I'll have to go through all the tests again... Though for now I have landed another job to tide me over til NYPD comes though. (*sigh...)

Turns out i have to do JST over cause it was for cadet. I finished my paper work, and i called my BI she said she sent out a paper for appointments for some reason i think she's bull****ting.

I mean all you can do is just wait, i'm surprised they sent me a letter in the mail. Maybe it was a mistake, the nypd plays to many games, trust me you'll see. The best thing you can do is wait.
