Advice,hints tips etc.....

Hi folks ,
Firstly apologies i'm not a sworn officer as yet,But will be next January 2001.The reason i'm posting is i placed this originally in "Ask a cop"to no avail,i think it was because it seemed to specifically target Uk officers.When i should make it more general.
Basically i'm looking for some hints and tips when i enter the academy(training college as we call it)in Jan....what do i expect?What did you think when you went there?
Any help or advice will be appreciated?
I'm 25 and was a Army reserve NCO for 5 years so i have some idea of a strict regime and disclipine so i'm not entirely ignorant..But well all advice helps...soooooo.....??

You made it through Boot Camp (basic training, initial entry, whatever) in the military, right? Not a whole lot of difference in the attitude needed. Just be prepared to throw yourself into the training, try to absorb everything, and possibly put your normal life on hold for a while. Boils down to two things - be dedicated and keep your sense of humor. If you're like most of us a month in you won't be able to imagine doing anything else.
