When we run into a guy in a bar who decides to be a hero with his buddies and yell comments to the police, we usually just haul the guy to the drunk tank. When you get a bunch of patrons yelling disrespectful comments at you, what's the best thing to do?

Whatever you get to deal with just think who will benefit or get the s****y end of the stick next time. For example if you let somebody run rings around you or get the better of you they will think that is normal and the next guy that comes along will get it worse legacy of your actions. Bar checks always bring out the morons in people if it's light hearted banter let it ride if not you're not there to be the butt of drunken jibes do what you have to do for the benefit of the next guy.

Well, you can always do the fun thing ... make note of the subject, the fact he has a beer in his hand, and smells of booze ... warn him not to drive, and when he leaves the bar, gets in the car, and brushes a curb ... pull him over, give him field sobriety tests, and if all goes well, he'll be spending at least part of the night in the hard-luck hotel. If he/she is not legally intoxicated, but is driving, and is under the influence ... the drunk tank is good too, at least for a 4-hour hold here in CA.

Well...you gotta put the pinch on loudmouth. THAT is one of the ten commandments. Cuff him and stuff him in a very visible manner so that all may see the error of his ways and learn from it.

A real pro will also put the pinch on his quiet little buddy. Why? you ask.

Because then the quiet little buddy can't come up with retorts that start with, "I wish that cop had tried that with ME!"

TEE HEE HEE!

I like the way you think H8, however it may come to pass that you will get another call before the idiot leaves the bar and therefore miss out on the fun...unless....
You go to the manager of the bar, tell him/her that you believe that they are serving intoxicated people and that, for their own good, they should show Mr. Loud Mouth the door. If you are lucky, the idiot will get into a tussle with security that you will, of course, have to intervene in. YOU WIN! Or, he will leave and then the scenario you described may occur. YOU WIN!
