NYPD Uniforms

To any NYPD who can answer,

Set me straight if I am wrong but I have noticed that the citation holder (leather strap) on your uniforms is seen very clearly. Do you guys do somehting different with the collars or is it that the badge is the right size?

We have a LAPD style badge and when we use our citation holders our collars over fold the citation holder making it invisible.

Its a shield holder with citation extras if need be.

It is originally meant to keep our name plate and the shield together as one unit on our left breast. We buy holders with different amount of citation holes from the local police equipment store.

Not for nothing but the LAPD style shield is a very big shield. Our shield is smaller in comparison.
