:rolleyes:Sooooo... All you Father cops out there.

When i become a father and i am in Law enforcement i hope i don't become too strict.

My father is Retired LE. Growing up life was quite strict. I moved out and thought:

:D YES!

Now that I'm out I can do whatever I want!

Yesterday i realized that I'm just like him in what i do and how I act. I'm sitting at my computer and just start laughing hysterically at the fact that I was so happy to move out to kinda seperate myself from him but still visit him daily... Only to realize I am him.

No wonder we argued a lot :o

Anyone ever experience this?

Indeed I did. Hang on to him - I lost my dad almost 2 years ago and I miss his wisdom and humor morre and more every time I reach for the phone to call him only to remember he's gone.

He retired after 28 years as a cop in Los Angeles. I must say he had limits and I had rules, but he saved his super hard core side for the bad guys - he was pretty easy on me and my brother.

And, after being retired myself now, I have become him, more and more. Be proud of the resemblance. I'm sure he is!

If you think your being too hard on your kids, tell them to say "Daddy, aren't you suppose to be taking it out on the runners and the reallyyyy violent offenders?"

It's funny now that I've been on my own for awhile I see all the habits I picked up from both my parents and can distinguish who I got it from

1042- I'm sorry for your loss. I know it must be difficult. I can't imagine not having him or being able to talk to him anymore.

I must say out of everyone on this forum you are the one I have the most respect for. What you acquired from your father and your own experiences shine through even on a public forum. I always look forward to your posts and replies. (Underwear.. Rofl)

I am so much like him but I wish I could be even more like him at times.

Thank you for replying everyone :)

As always,
Stay Safe out there.

Shawn.
