i am contemplating transfering to another dept. down the road and im currently in the nypd... when other departments ask for paperwork such as my proof of ny police certification where would i get such a thing.. from the nypd, or would i have to contact the state? also would i need any additional paperwork showing that i am a ny certified po?

You should have your "Basic Course for Police Officers" cert from NYS DCJS. That should serve as proof of completion of a basic academy. If you don't have that you can contact them and they will send you a new one. Be prepared to wait if you do that.

what is the matter with your guys? im asking for advice and your questioning whether or not im actually on the job... ive been working in the nypd for over a year now, and volunteered for an auxiliary for about 2. i dont understand why you would think i would come on these forums and make it up. im simply asking what type of paperwork i would need if i were to transfer.... end of story. at least BXHOUSING is willing to answer my simple question

well simply because right before gun and shield day as a nypd police officer, you recieve a certificate from your instructor which says: NEW YORK CITY POLICE DEPARTMENT POLICE ACADEMY, On recommendation of its faculty and by virtue of the authority...bla bla bla..awarded to...(your name)...this certificate as evidence of the satisfactory completetion of RECRUIT TRAINING CURRICULUM.
All you keep saying is you WORK for NYPD. It is a bit of a grey area when you just say work.. you can be a SSA, TEA or maybe a PAA.

nyctnt, i received that certificate about a week before the academy was completed, but to be totally honest, it looks like some certificate i received when i was in elementary school. it does not even look official. i thought maybe i would receive some other type of documentation

the certificate states "evidence of the satisfactory completion of recruit training curriculum. given in the city and state of new york." is that all i would need, or would i have to contact the state for additional documentation?

Nah, thats the one. You use that for documentation. I have used it and never got a hard time for it.
