View Full Version : Worn snaps
I have a holster for my 1911 (of course) but the thumb break snap is getting so worn that it takes just a small movement to open it. Any ideas on how to make the snap tighter? Can I just bend it with a hammer? It is a BullDog with half the metal strap being metal the the other half nylon.

Any decent shoe repair place can replace the snap. I bought a flashlight holder online, it came with a chrome snap, needed brass. Took it to my local shoe repair place, and he change the snap, didn't even want to charge me for it. I gave him a few bucks for coffee and said thanks.

Yeah and leather shop can replace it in a couple seconds, or you can go to your local crafts store and purchase a snap setting tool with about 25 snaps and replace it yourself for around $4.00. I've been able to get some good deals online with used stuff because the snap was broken. Takes all of about 1 minute to take off the old one and set a new one.
