Any information on the new contract for NYC Corrections

Are there any CO from NYC that can tell me about your new contract.

Also I'll be retiring in 2010 at age of 40 and i'm thinking of applying For NYC Corrections. I have a few question can anyone please answer them for me.

How's the assault rate on Officer's ?

Where else can i work besides Riker's i was told about Mathattan and the Bronx?

I was told that if you call out sick that they send someone to your house?

What are your Shift hours and Schedule?

Do you Really have to live in the five bouoghs?

How long is Probation?

You don't have to live in NYC, you can live in Long Island and Westchester. As long as its NY State.

NYC CORRECTION OFFICERS WIN 3.5 PCT RETROACTIVE WAGE INCREASE (RE-OPENER) AND AN 8.16 PCT INCREASE FOR (NEW) 2009-2011 CONTRACT =TO PAY SAME AS NYPD - NO GIVE BACKS- $76,448- WITH LONGEVITY, HOLIDAY PAY, NIGHT DIFF, UNIFORM ALLOWANCE AND ANNUITY MONEY $94,000.


Probation is 24 months

I still am curious about the sick call policy. Can you tell me if it is true that a supervisor come to your home and check to see if your really sick?
Can you give me a break down has to how this policy works?
