Interesting.... That must be new. Last I knew S&W only had a one-year warranty. Of course, it's a been a couple years since I bought a Smith.

That warranty applies to handguns not rifles

That's what I thought... don't believe they have any warranty for the MP15 rifles.

If that's the case, I wouldn't want a product whose manufacturer doesn't stand behind it.

I actually just ordered one. I can't beat the price, I am a little concerned about the warranty. I sent an e-mail to s&W about it to get some clarification.

I got an email back saying the warranty on rifles is one year. I am not sure how I feel about that.

That right there would cause me to look for another rifle.

But that's just me and my opinion.

I am a little uneasy about it, but the rifle has good reviews. I have never owned a rifle like that so I am unsure of how often they have problems. I told my brother about it and he said "I have had my colt for ten years and I have never had to use the warranty". Do a lot of these rifles have defects that would require a warranty?

Not necessarily. It's just that you don't want to be the one guy that has problems the 375th day you owned the rifle. This platform has been around long enough that each and every manufacturer should have at LEAST a 10-year warranty.
