Executive Director of Public Safety

In this role, you will head the administration and direction of 120 safety personnel on all campuses in the NY area by encouraging teamwork and acting as the primary spokesperson for the University on all public safety issues. Responsibilities include conducting a comprehensive assessment of the existing public safety policies, developing enhancements to security, managing a budget of $6-7 MM, and ensuring compliance with Federal, State, and local laws. Additionally, you must develop a strong rapport with students, faculty, public safety officers, and local law enforcement agencies.
The ideal candidate must have a progressive career in law enforcement, experience managing a large diverse population and a college degree (advanced degree preferred). Interpersonal, leadership, strategic and analytical skills are necessary. Non-profit or higher education experience is preferred.
