The Cary Board of Police Commissioners is accepting applications for Police Officer. Applicants must be a United States Citizen, be between 21 and 35 years of age (except as provided by State Statutes), and have a High School Diploma or G.E.D.

Starting salary is $33,467 with excellent benefits. Candidates with previous law enforcement experience, including Illinois Police Academy training, may be eligible for a starting salary of $37,835.20. Currently, maximum salary is $54,641 after five years. The Police Commission will discuss a relocation allowance for candidates with previous Illinois Police Academy Training Certification and experience. Applications will be available 24 hours a day beginning at 8:00 a.m., Friday, November 15, 2002 at the Cary Police Department, 654 Village Hall Drive, Cary, IL 60013, (847) 639-2341. There will be a $25.00 non-refundable application fee. In order to proceed in the testing process, completed applications and other required supporting documents, must be received by the Cary Board of Police Commissions, c/o Chief of Police, Ronald Delelio, at the Cary Police Department no later than midnight on Saturday, January 4, 2003. A brief orientation, physical ability and written tests are schedule for Saturday, January 11, 2003, at 8:00 a.m. at Cary-Grove High School. The application packet will contain information explaining the testing process.

Post-conditional offer process requires successful completion of psychological, polygraph, drug screen, and medical examinations.
