Hello Everyone

Anyone ever get the protein that is sold at Wal Mart? Hows the quality?

I spend about $300 a month on protein and supps and if I started purchasing protein from Wal Mart, I;d be saving over 100 bucks a month...However, Im not sure if that would be a wise move...

Any advice..............I currently use Cytogainer and/or Muscle Milk

I've used the protein from wal-mart. First, I hate wal-mart, so shopping there hurts every time I do it. Second, I haven't tried Muscle Milk. As far as protein and supps go, I don't work out frequently or strictly enough to really notice much of a difference. I've tried other things as well. I did, however, when I was working nights and lifting during our lunches/breaks at the last place I was employed, increase my max bench from 190 or so to about 225 in six months or so. I wasn't strictly using wal-mart protein at the time. It's cheap, and protein is protein in all honesty. Whether you get it from eggs or whey powders. I just go with cheap and efficient. Although, the price of the Muscle Milk for their mint chocolate chip (which someone told me was great) isn't too bad looking.

$300/mo dang ($3,600.00 per year on protein ), wouldn't it be cheaper to buy some chicken breasts or egg whites?

make the switch. I use to use gnc brand whey, on, muslcle milk etc... body fortress(walmart brand) is fine just dont get the vanilla. body fortress chocolate for post workout with a banana, milk goes down just fine...I did notice that body fortress does have creatine and i dont recall gnc, on having that as an additive...definitely worth the 13 dollars!!!!

I have been using Walmart products for around 3yrs now with no complaints. I do get my protein from sams club, 6Ibs EAS prtein for $29.00.

$300.00 a month?!?!? You really shouldn't need more than Protein, Creatine, and Glutamine, and I won't argue with anyone who suggests they are all a waste of money. I am just so used to taking them and when I take a break from them I notice it! Works for me...

muscle milk is loaded with calories. it tastes great but you're paying for the marketing and advertising..calculate their confusing nutrition facts per serving if you want lean protein i'd try to work with around 110-120 calories per serving where protein is 22-26 g

Ive used the body fortress protein in the past....its cheap and its protein.....It doesnt mix very well and I found myself adding a banana and PB to it to help it go down.

Muscle Milk is over rated and loaded with calories, there are several other cheaper alternatives out there.

Try ordering your supps. online. Im sure it will save you tons of money in the long run!

I personally order from www.massnutrition.com
and I am currently stacking BSN....N.O. Xplode pre workout
BSN....Syntha 6 post workout
along with Animal Pack.

Oh, on a side note, I used the body fortress vanilla flavors. Personally, I never mix my protein powders with water. I always use milk. I've found that this has increased the ability to tolerate the crap going down even if it's not normally good. As far as the vanilla, if you like creamsicles, I've got a great suggestion.

1 scoop vanilla protein powder, 1 cup milk (doesn't matter %fat), and maybe a 1:10 ratio of orange juice to milk added in. It tastes great! I only used the wally world brand of protein though, so I don't know how well it mixes with others... Cheers!

$300.00 a month on protein, get the heck out here. If you actually are spending that amount of money a month one of two things is going on here.

1) You either know something we don’t and are big as hell and cut like no tomorrow.

2) You bought into some BS that a personal trainer at a globogym sold/told you and now you watching you’re money disappear and yet have seen little to zero results.

What are you on? A six meal a day plan balanced with a 40-30-30 plan, protein shake with breakfast and protein bar between lunch and dinner meals?

No reasonable person should be spending $300.00 a month on Protein. You can get the same if not better results by eating un-processed foods and getting your protein from natural sources.

Thanks for all the responses......

the $300 bucks is on protein and other supplements (vitamins, calcium, glutamine,.........)

Anyways, I did pick up some protein from Wal Mart and it isnt that bad. Doesnt mix as well as Muscle Milk and the other GNC type brands, but the taste is good (ive tried Strawberry and Vanilla)......

The people that thought the 300 bucks a month for protein is crazy, I know thats the high end but, I am 6 foot 5 and weigh just under 230lbs.. I try to get around 400 grams of protein a day. I lift weights 4-5 times a week, run 4 miles in 28 minutes 3 to 4 times a week as well as a ton of Higher intensity conditioning, plus i am on the verge to compete in mixed martial arts....therefor I need the additional protein compared to say someone who weighs 175ish and workouts out 4 times a week with weights, and thats it...

Thanks for the replies and let me know what you guys think

Is there a particular reason as to why you want/need 400grams a day?
