SFPD psychological oral appeal? Anyone tried it?

Recently got a letter I was DQed and I have 30 days to appeal. Anyone tried appealing? or know anyone who appealed for SFPD? Is it worth appealing or should I just wait 2 years to reapply?

Any recommendation on which doctor to go to, to appeal?

sorry about the bad news! How long ago did you complete your written/interview? I would appeal it, although from what I have read it might cost you a little bit of money...I say its worth a shot versus just waiting 2 more years. Sorry I dont have any info about doctors. Good luck

I took the Psychological Oral maybe 2 months ago and got the letter yesterday. I'm thinking about appealing it, or just pay for the academy myself.

Will they let you self sponsor? Doesn't seem to make sense since its department specific?

Wont be with the same department, I was thinking on going to one of the classes at http://theacademy.ca.gov. They have a academy in San Jose early next year.

Oh, right on. I took a PAT there, its a decent campus. Good luck with your psych appeal. How long did it take between oral board and psych eval? I just had the oral board 2 weeks ago.

The Psychological Eval is the very last test, it goes ; Written > Oral Board > PAT > Background > Polygraph > Medical > Psychological Written > Psychological Oral

What was the timeframe though? About 8 months as I keep hearing?

Total time from written to I got DQed was about 11 months almost a year.

I decided to try to appeal the DQ, and if that doesnt work im going to apply to Sac PD academy and pay out of my own expense.
