Salary: $28,639 to $46,641 POLICE OFFICER ENTRY-LEVEL The Rockton Police Department and the Rockton Board of Fire and Police Commissioners are testing to establish an eligibility list for entry-level patrol officer. There is one immediate opening. The job requires nights/weekends/holiday work. Officers work 14 days per month during 12 hour shifts. Pay range from $28,639 ($30,074 if certified) to $46,641. Officers are provided with clean, modern equipment and average 100 hours of paid in-service training each year. Excellent benefit plan including medical, dental, eyewear and life insurance. All uniforms, leather, shoes, firearm and ballistic vest are provided. Liberal vacation, personal time, holiday pay, and sick time. Outstanding pension plan. Requirements: Successful candidate must be at least 21 years of age but less than 35 at time of appointment. Must have a high school diploma or G.E.D. Must possess, or be able to possess, a valid driver’s license in Illinois. Must not have been convicted of a felony or disqualifying misdemeanor. Candidate must successfully pass oral interview, background check and, personality profile. Certified officers will receive preference over non-certified candidates. Potential candidates must attend a mandatory orientation meeting Friday, March 7th at 7:00pm at the Rockton Municipal Center, 110 East Main Street, Rockton, IL 61072.
