I have a buddy that is looking to work off duty with a company that employes off duty cops. If you can provide me with any suggestions, referrals I would appreciate it and pass it on.

Just curious.... Why your buddy can't log on O.com and ask this question? This is not the first time you've asked a question for another person.
I rather you ask a question like this for yourself then try to make it as someone else asking it. You did mention something about not being paid well, so I assume this could be a question from you, not your buddy.
I tease you because you brought up the same respones to my question I asked for my buddy. Nowyour doing the same... check yourself first buddy before you try to put others on the spot. Got it Rook.

Off duty gigs for L.E. ?? "no"- don't waste your time- often they don't pay what you'd make on OT and folks seem to think that because you are a "cop", you have superman powers. Best advice- find a job you want for yourself off duty-and away from cop stuff,or try a hand at your own small business...

^ Agreed! Even if you met my $60/hr, I'd have to think twice about it. Go be a waiter in Beverly Hills or somewhere.

I think the hard part would be securing days off for a 2nd job that requires a set schedule, especially if you are a young officer.
If you want great money without working on your days off, become a motor officer and get assigned to DUI watch...
