Im not to sure about the validity of them being laid off....couldn't tell you for sure. But I do know that I have seen a bunch of "newbies" pushing around black and whites with FTP's lately. Between seeing a bunch of new faces in Murrieta PD since I graduated from High school in '06, Border Patrol has a BUNCHHH of more units being pushed around.

Murrieta looks like a great place to work. They have a new police station and a lot of former SDPD cops are there as well !! Very tempting
Murietta is one of the areas of Riverside County that was hit hard by the real estate crash. It had a very high percentage of foreclosures.

It was hit hard but they were not laying anyone off. I later confirmed this through one of their officers. In fact, I herd they might be looking to hire a few (laterals only)

pm me for my SCE account name and mods. I lived in riverside and I hated that 91 freeway. If I left 10 minutes early i would be 30 minutes early to work. if i left on time i would be 20 minutes late to work. Love my agency even tho we are one of the lowest paid agency in our area.

After taking care of some credit issues I was looking into Murrieta to do reserves. Anyone know if they are accepting apps? ( Level 1 grad.)

Temecula is the sheriff. So are Menifee, Perris and Elsinore. In that area of the county, Murrieta and Hemet are the only city run PD's.

So why does each of those departments run around in cars labeled
Police - City of Temecual
Menifee Police department
I know sheriffs covers alot of that area but I could have sworn there were others.. Doesnt matter I need a job when I get back

RSO provides law enforcement services for those cities by contract. It's the same as Stanton in Orange County, along with most of southern OC. OCSD contracts for that city.

All of the cities you mentioned contract with Riverside County Sheriff's Department.

So in the cars I showed above ... sheriffs drive those?
Im confused as to why all 3 have Police Cars if they are the Sheriff....

Because those cities that contract with RSD all want to feel like they have their own police dept. RSD caters to that. It does make it confusing, even to other LEO's. I believe they each have their own patches also.

+1.

The patches are something new, I remember about 5-6 months ago, I was pulled over by a RSO deputy who was wearing SO patches. Then again, it was a special traffic enforcement division.
RSO has been running "city specific" patches on their contract cities assigned deputies for some time now; the newest being San Jacinto, Southern Coachella Valley CSO's, Elsinore (City seal changed), with Menifee, and Wildomar waiting for production of their patches.
http://www.riversidesheriff.org/patches/index.html
Regular RSO patches can still be seen on the occasional contract city deputy's jacket or uniform.
**interesting to note that RSO's Emergency Services Team (SWAT) run regular patches on BDU's rather than the typical subdued insignia.

When I was a Deputy with RSO, this was always a huge hang up with people. I would hear people talking out of their ***** that they they wanted nothing to do with RSO because Moreno Valley PD or Temecula PD was the Department to work for. Or what would be even funnier was to have a Temecula PD "officer" on a call along with a deputy in a non-contract uniform and have some street lawyer tell the deputy he didnt have any authority because he was in the city limits. Ahhhh.....ignorance.
The cities pay RSO to provide law enforcement services. In return, the city gets to design their own cars and patches to the city feels like it has its own PD, however, on the uniform the patch is the only thing different. The badge is all the same. In Riverside County, If they are wearing a tan shirt and green pants, they work for the Sheriff.

double post
FP,
What's up brutha?
:D
ps. you're almost right about tan and greens in Riverslide County, there IS however one other dept. that I know of (and there may be more??) that wear tan and green and are sworn popo type; Riverside Co. Dept. of Social Services. (saw one of their recruits graduate from Ben Clark awhile back)

No one is failing because they aren't processing any of the outstanding apps and there is no testing - so no one can fail. I called to clarify if outstanding apps will continue to be processed if / when they resume hiring, and they start with the pile they already have. For your sake, I hope they are far along by the time you come, but I don't think they will be. They've had my background packet for almost a year - I haven't been DQ'd, but I haven't been processed any further either.
+1 on the IE and being forced to drink and then drive home. LOL :D
