I'm starting this thread over because the other thread doesn't seem to be working properly when I posted.

Thanks, that makes me feel a little better. I guess I was and still somewhat worried because there have been some people who received a call even before they had their psych interview. I had my psych interview late last week and I think it went well, so I'm hoping I receive a call soon.

As far as I know the Academy is scheduled for February according to LT Smith.
I am currently slated to finish my processing on 31 October. I have completed medical and psych and the poly is scheduled for Haloween along with my interview and ride along.
I am unsure if my background investigation will be done by that time.

Next academy is suppose to be in February of course that could change due to funding restriction.

hey guys,
I just got another call from my background investigator yesterday, he said I was second on the pile of folders he had. He notified me he was going to be talking to my references and supervisor at work soon. I also have my first interview next Wednesday morning. Anyone know what I should expect during this first meeting? When he called the other day, i answered a lot of questions about my background packet and I was under the assumption that that is what we would have done next Wednesday.

Good luck with it and it's nice that he's keeping you updated.

NYSP,
I scored a 95 on the exam. I have already completed my oral, written psych as well as the medical. I was supposed to have an interview tomorrow with the background investigator, but he had to reschedule and said that he would be in contact with me. I have been in contact with him numerous times as we have gone over things in my background packet, as well as giving him extra reference numbers. You?

Had to dust this one off...
Where is everyone at in the processing stages?
Are they doing BIs on the 85s yet?

I scored a 95 and just finished with the in home interview Friday. My BI said that all results are in from the psych and medical and my poly is scheduled for October 31 along with my interview. My understanding is that I will be finished at that time and will simply have to wait for the final offer sometime in January.

She is correct, and LE definitely teaches you that; before hire and of course during employment!

Just finished processing on Friday (poly/final interview/ride along) Just thought I would post to refresh the thread and see where everyone else is in the process. By the way, my ride along was with the tactical unit on Halloween night. They were very professional and I had a very eye opening experience with them. It confirmed my desire to become a police officer.

Congrats on finishing everything. I have not heard anything yet. If I don't by this Saturday, I think I'll make a couple of calls and see where they are at. Last contact was almost two months ago.
Anyone with info, feel free to chime in here

rpd process is always long and there is always a long gap between the psych and hearing anything for an interview and the rest of the process unless you score in the high range which if you ask me i don't think those test measure anything there pretty much a waste of time there just there to eliminate people from the process just my opinion. Anyways if you didn't score in the 90's then you probably not looking to hear anything till middle december or so they just take there time in filtering through people a have buddies that work for the process and they said it just a longer process then other agencies. You have to go into it not expecting anything and kinda just continuing working and when your not thinking about it that usually when you'll get a call. i wouldn't worry to much just remember the class is in February so you got 3 months still. patience is the key:) good luck everyone
