NYPD accepting Other Academys for credits

Hi everyone my main question is i have a friend who has 58 supposed credits from the U.S. customs and border academy. Are these able to be used for him to get onto the NYPD job?

i believe for those supposed credits to become credits you actually have to find a school that will accept them and give you a transcript. and you would need 60 total credits.

They have to be credits that can be used toward a degree. I recieved 15 credits from my Police Academy that can be used toward a criminal justice degree, they are acceptable. Our academy is actually held at a college. If he can have the credits transcribed by an accredited college, they are acceptable. Although I have never heard of someone getting 58 credits from an academy.

My academy was held at a college, too. I got 20 or 22 credits towards a CJ degree. I also already have about 29 prior to that.

Is it possible for him to get mabye 20 credit towards a CJ degree and use his 40 from his business major or must it be 60 credits towards one degree or study? Almost like having a double major ?

you would need to take a letter from the academy he got the credits from to the college where he was taking the bus classes and see how many credits they will give him for it. its just 60 total credits dosnt matter what they are.

Maybe 10 or 12. Not 58.

yes CBP claims its worth 58 credits but my question was more to if anyone had experience or knew how many would actually transfer into a NYS school?

The problem here is...

NYPD only accepts credits from a REGIONALLY accredited college, and not a national accredation.

Those 58 credits need to be transferred to a regional college.

I would look up and call EXCELSIOR COLLEGE(NY) on google and use their "CREDIT BANK".
