Nothing looks better than BDU's and a PROPERLY fit long sleeve uniform shirt with the tie.

Anything that involves high motorcycle boots and breaches.
Honestly, my old uniform when I was a patrol officer in DE was nice - BDU pants with a broad blue stripe, french blue shirt, campaign hat. However, I would have been willing to forego the campaign hat for a crushed cap provided I got the boots.

imo, the current uniform with the turtleneck or dicky underneath the longsleeve shirt is the most ergonomic in winter.

That is Ronnie Coleman, Mr Olympia. And yes he was a real cop but a reserve I believe in Austin or Houston. There was an interview in one of the fitness mags where he stated that he gave it up to pursue Bodybuilding full time, however there were rumors that the department let him go because they knew he used roids and did not want to look like they promoted illegal drug usage by their officers. Either way I could'nt imagine him walking up to my car.

Not anymore. The last time recruits were mobilized was 9/11

i was trying to be humorous---i already know the potential severity of the job, this is coming for a guy, who was going to join the Rhode Island State Police, the ones that get you into platoon formation and yell at you for any small matter, before you even take the fragin test

Are we talking about looking good or looking good and having a uniform that you can actually work in? I know I wouldn't want to have to work in some of these uniforms. I'm all about looking good and professional but function has to prevail over fashion when your working.
GeneralMelchid

no most of them are just for parade uniform, and cermonial, same with the Canadian Mounties, they wear regular uniforms now, so do the New Jersey State Police,

Honestly, I think a good cop looks like anyone. The uniform just doesn't mean anything anymore, nor does the badge. People react more now to how you interact with them then your uniform. I think a good cop "looks" like the one who is honest, stern, fair, quick to act and reasonable to judge.

i think they should wear BDU's honestly. It's just like in the military. Do you patrol in BDU's or ur dress uniform? BDU's are very comfortable and are "USEFUL".
