how bad is waiting 6 months to get an email saying " You passed " .. I wouldnt mind getting a score considering how long I waited around the Javits center and in the test airplane hanger.. SIGH

lol i've been waitin a lot longer then all of u! i took the 2002-2003 exam to be hired..i got called in 2007. Took the physical...interview....background....and was suppose to start in july but i'm waiting now to start january's class!

I can't believe I failed it. It pretty much came as SHOCK as I REALLY thought I was going to get a 85-95 or so, like I have on some of the other department exams. Hmm... guess I either really blew it or there was some kind of error. Either way, ah well. Nothing to be done, correct? :/

I think most people that failed did not fail on the main questions but on the psychological/background part.

Possibly. I wish I knew what it was. I made sure I was completely honest with those questions too.

From what I've gathered the MTA doesn't give you an actual number grade, as they don't have to since they are not civil service. Although it will be a little frustrating since we will have no clue about the hiring process timeline.

For a bonafide CIVIL SERVICE exam.

MTA PD is NOT a civil service title.

MTA is a public benfit corporation for the state of new york.

They are not true state employees and do not fall under NYS civil service laws. They are a "private" organization used to maintain the money flow from MTA services.

Hope it sums it up for you.

Prior to the raise I would say "HELLLLLL YEA", but since we got that raise and are almost up to par, I cannot guarantee it.

Although it is veryyyy tempting.

Trust me, when its time to decide, I will make the proper decision and not take anyone's place that truly wants it.

Top pay for MTAPD I think is around 83k at 5yrs, and its the chart that makes it. Working 3 days a week, choice of NYC, Nassau, Suffolk, CT.

Since the MTA PD recently took over the SIRT PD, you could probably get sent there as well.

Does anybody know if they are going to use email or snail mail to call whoever they choose for the next round of processing? I'd assume it would be regular mail.

lol, I dont think theres going to be much of a chance of me getting the Vz. I heard probably 75% of my class will get the triboro bridge (not that bad, considering I'll be active with harlem, and the bronx at the end of 2 spans).

There are VERY few spots on SI for MTAPD. Currently they only have maybe 20-30 guys assigned there, usually if you live on SI they will give D8 to you.
Once out of the academy for MTAPD you will probably be sent to Penn station.
